Let's spare a thought for the woman in question as well, she's a victim in this too just because some meathead wanted to leak audio to take down Morris.
Shit moves by all involved.

Here is Megan who Morris objectified.
She will not stand for this rubbish and nor should she.

He didn’t necessarily say anything against being gay though, he just pointed out the fact she was, to guys who might have been interested in her romantically, and said she’s a hot and awesome chick.

What is the world coming to where that’s some sort of hanging offence?

Are some people trying to lead us to believe that women don’t say the same sort of stuff all day long about guys, when they’re talking amongst themselves!?

“He’s so hot, pity he’s gay” is the sort of thing that you’d hear all show long on shows like Sex In The City.

Would there be some huge outrage if audio emerged of a woman saying something like that about a guy?

No-one would bat an eyelid about it.

The only part of what he said that might have been offensive was the “liquor licence” part, depending on how you took it, but if anyone’s taking offence to the rest of it it’s political correctness gone mad, and people living with their heads in the sand and completely oblivious to what’s going on out there in the dating world.

Whether it offends you or what is said in the 'dating world' is irrelevant because this happened in the workplace. No professional environment would find this acceptable or appropriate and rightly so. Frankly you'd have to be an idiot to even speak like that to your colleagues in the workplace.

Don't forget there's an actual person involved who should be able to expect a safe work environment where this kind of behaviour isn't tolerated.

Totally agree with you. But.....if Morris loses his job at Foxtel over this and his career goes down the toilet, expect him to sue the AFL,
Bulldogs and Bevo for defamation - repetitional damage and shame caused at the presser. AFL not providing a "safe" workplace, etc.

It's not the same though is it, women in the workplace have copped a lot of this stuff for years and no employer wants to look like they condone it. It looks like textbook toxic masculinity shit, he's ****ed, he won't be a journalist anymore unless it comes out that it's fake. Coupled with the other video he sounds like a real bigoted piece of shit as well.

It might be a bit of an overcorrection where you can lose your career over the kind of thing that would have been laughed off 20 years ago but it over corrected because there were dickheads like him around teaching the next generation how to be predatory towards women in the workplace.

They cracked it and now it's a no go zone. Hard to feel sympathy when he allowed himself to be recorded saying that stuff too. He would have been happy to release the same stuff if a player had gone there too IMO.

It's not political correctness gone mad, it's inappropriate behaviour. Most workplaces these days if they found you talking about a female coworker and you said "nahhhhhhhhhh she's a lesbian ladz, she's got her liquor licence har har har har har and ohhhhh she's good at it" you'd be ****in gawnnnnn. And should be too. **** him off back to his mates in Da B0iz Club, they can sit around at home together talking about who they think is good at oral sex and who is a lesbian amongst themselves.

Could be within his right to, not sure it'd be dependent on the outcome of this matter though.

It wasn't just "she's so hot , pity she's gay" was pretty offensive.

Made it sound like the only reason she wasn't doing him was because she was gay, and that he'd heard good reviews about her.
I can totally empathise with her not wanting to work with him knowing he'd been commenting on her that way.

Fantastic summary of this. Bit amazing how this stuff emerged today. Funny world ?

Not a chance in hell of successfully suing the AFL .
That's not even what he loses his job over.
