My fav posts on FB last night came after the team/squad announcement:

• Henry out through injury
• Ratugolea & Higgins to return
• Dempsey to debut

Some didn't like it when advised that Henry currently isn't an out & that Dempsey may not actually debut - a few kept pointing to an article from Wednesday saying Henry will miss with a foot injury, and that even with the team sheet being posted, they preferred to refence the previous days article...

Geelong FB supporters page - does my head in at times (or most of the time), and no idea how I actually came across it or if there's anything of value posted on there

I think we all would have been surprised if Henry actually played on Sunday - but the club was still willing to name him last night which was being dismissed

While I don't dispute that it was silly for people to supposedly say he wasn't named, it was actually even sillier for the club to name him in the first place.

The club talks all the time about showing an abundance of caution with players before putting them out there. And yet a guy who has had a recent injury issue in the same part of his body (and apparently didn't have a clear diagnosis for his latest injury when the team was selected) was still named in the squad.

That's just outright foolish, in my view. It's a Round 6 interstate game against last year's wooden spooners. And yet we carry on like we're somehow trying to get him up for a cut-throat final. Just a waste of ink on the team sheet when he was surely never any chance to play at all.

Never change, Geelong. Nobody's ever done 'ducks and drakes' better (or actually worse) than our club.

Whats the chances of Cameron will get rested sometime this year? Me personally I think highly likely.. And that will go with Hawkins as well...

- no news on the injury. We know its same spot as the surgically repaired area. WE know it was an impact injury as he got stepped on.

But nothing else. Maybe getting more opinions. CS has said its not disasterous - which is good - I just thought a week later we'd know something more.

Apparently the first scan showed no issues so they'll going to wait a few days and have another scan - maybe a bit of swelling & waiting for that to go down as it can impact what's seen on scans

Hopefully we'll hear something early this week

Got hurt again a couple of games back, went off but came back and played under difficulty because our sub was gone.
Has been playing short time the last 3 or 4 games.

That's the thing- we will never really know what each player is capable of playing with as they are all battered and bruised every week. Cam showed again yesterday how valuable he is, and with Danger out, he stood up. I hadn't thought he was looking lame, but the above posts are good observations.

Sounds like he is due to rest it. Not ideal against a resurgent Freo.

I don't know what the injury is, or whether rest will help it, the club pays blokes to make those assessments.

Were we that desperate to win those early games?

He's one of only a couple who we have to look forward to. A potential All Australian capable of playing multiple positions and his career is now in jeopardy.

He was in doubt to even play senior footy at the start of the year as he had a setback in his recovery.
Amazingly, he was picked to play and stunk it up (as you would expect not being match fit) and has never looked right this past month.
Now suffers another injury setback and won't be seen for a long time.

If henry is gone for a while we are 1000 % going to have to take a readymade kpd in MSD (might even make ceglar inactive and use 2 picks and take both a kpd and ruck).

i have no info in Jack he could be out for ages... or 4 weeks. I have no clue on this.

I hope its not bad.

Kingy asked him about it - CS replied its not armageddon - but its the same foot - same spot - and he got stepped on so what was fixed held up but the impact of the compression made it an issue.
