Port rocked by injury:

Port Adelaide expects forward Orazio Fantasia to undergo surgery next week on his troublesome right knee.
Fantasia went under the knife twice for left knee issues last year but had since been nagged by a problem with his other one.
The Power did not have a timeline for how long the procedure would sideline the former Essendon goalsneak.

Fantasia was riding an exercise bike at training at Alberton on Wednesday. Port Adelaide was still working through when and where he would have the surgery.

Every day a new headline

(to the same story)

Quote from todays Age suggest Fantasia to miss first month at min. Meanwhile Ben King at GC lookks to have has done his ACL , like his brother Max.

"Meanwhile, Port Adelaide small forward Orazio Fantasia will go back in for more knee surgery in Melbourne next week and is unlikely to play in the opening month of the season at least.
The dynamic former Essendon forward had minor knee surgery mid-season last year and made it back for the last rounds and finals. He was then still suffering discomfort in the off-season and went back in for more surgery on the medial meniscus in the left knee.

He got back to training in the pre-season and only to begin having trouble with his right knee and the decision was made for him to have surgery on the meniscus in that knee also.
Fantasia has barely trained through the pre-season because of the surgeries so will need some weeks to rehab and improve fitness before coming into contention.
Key forward Charlie Dixon is still recovering from injuring ligaments in his ankle after a training mishap in late January. He is a 50-50 prospect for round one."

It seems highly unlikely this bloke will ever play a full season, best to just hope he's fit at the business end of the year.
Yep.
Reckon they're in no rush to have him play from Round 1.
Obviously think they will still be around at the pointy end of the season(!!!!!) and so want him fit at that time.

Dixon’s wou,d easily classify as an urgent category 2. Where as Fantasia would be at best cat 3
If this is the case, the club should have released that information, because otherwise they just look incompetent.
