I never wanted him to retire but I think he's made the wrong call in coming back. Not because he's not good enough, he definitely still is.

I think it's one of those things where you've just got to 100% all in and reversing the decision seemed to me like that wasn't the case.

I dont think he ever wanted to retire. Felt forced into it by his Mrs and promises he'd made about family commitments. I reckon he wanted to go on for a couple of years yet, Miami tried getting Brady and Sean Peyton remember. They aren't doing that/giving up on Tua for just one year I dont reckon.

He may not have wanted to but he did. That's the conflicting part for me - even if he didn't personally want to, he still felt compelled enough to actually announce it. Once that decision was made, I really think that should've been it.

Obviously I don't know the guy but he's seemed a bit off this season. The potential divorce would be an obvious reason why.

Imo he retired so he could sneak out of the Buccaneers and sign with the Dolphins. That trip he did to the UK to watch a soccer match, imo, was to try to persuade the Glaziers into letting him off the hook given a retired player is still under the control of his former team.

Be interested to see how the divorce goes considering she's worth more than him. She could hardly be entitled to half his stuff, although this is America.

This thread sucks! I hate all this news!

These are the injuries that are terminal. He might be lucky to ever get back :(

Just heard on a podcast there are only 3 QBs in history with a worse QBR than Baker Mayfield has this year thru the first 4 weeks of a season

1. JaMarcus Russell
2. Tyler Thigpen
3. Jimmy Clausen
4. Baker Mayfield

Seems I owe Baker an apology manureid , I said he might be worse than Clausen but hes better! By one spot!

I was so keen for Baker to stick it up the Browns' arses :(

Apparently the Tuck Rule And the Man in tyhe arena was just to much for her

I know they were very rich and very privileged, and have weirdly physical relationships with their kids. But in a weird way they made be believe in love. For all their other responsibilities they made it work for so long, you know?

Jordan Mailata likely multi-week shoulder injury

Starting to sound like it might be very serious, at least an IR (4-week) injury :(

I guess this is a happy story. As I said in the week 4 thread, football just doesn't usually provide guys enough chances to give us a story like Geno's. I'm really enjoying it for as long as it lasts (which I don't expect to be too long.)

Round 2 of the Tontine/Survivor comp is up and running.

TAKE 2

List of rules:
Rule #1: You have to pick one winner each week. You must tip before TNF kick-off.

Rule #2: No one can pick in the game with the greatest line head start each week, according to Sportsbet website. (if there are 2 games with the same biggest line then this rule is ignored).

Rule #3: You cannot pick the same team over a rolling 4-week period. i.e. if you pick Tampa Bay in Week 2, you can’t pick them again until Week 6.

Rule #4: You can gain an immunity round if you elect to pick an underdog (as per the Sportsbet website, at the time you make the tip) and they win. This means you get an extra life. You can earn a maximum of one immunity round in the competition. NB: As per Rule #1, you must tip before first kick-off!

Rule #5: If you forget to submit a tip before first kick-off, you get the team with the greatest head start (i.e. the team least likely to win).

Last player standing wins!

This week
Biggest line is Buffalo -14.5
So default pick is: Pittsburgh.

Depends how much that snake oil TB12 thing is worth. And he did sign that massive contract with Fox wasnt it like $100M

Interesting with Brady. I wonder how long they have been separated.
The guy just loves his football more than anything else doesn't he. And I don't necessarily blame him for wanting to come back, if he ended up retiring he's done forever, and it seems he's the kind of guy who that would eat him up knowing that he has more in the tank.

As for old mates power rankings Cowboys and Vikes should be higher.

I actually just finished Man in the Arena this afternoon.

Ironically he spoke about how he carries around this torment that he doesn't want to pass onto his kids. Hard not to feel like this may be self inflicted. I'm sure there's more to it than him playing football but seems like it would've been a pretty easy win for his marriage to have actually retired. It's not like there's anything else left to prove.

I also learned how much it broke down in NE. I obviously knew it wasn't going well towards the end but I didn't know to that extent.
