Notes
1. I've chosen Kennedy over Cripps, deal with it
2. I have been flip-flopping on the following
Ryan v Rich
McInerny v Blakey
Chapman v Richards v Rioli
Caldwell v JHF
Grundy v Gawn
Treloar v English
Butters v Rozee
Rayner v Perkins
3. Hesitantly have Rowell, McCartin, McEntee, Soligo, Kelly

Too many pods IMO.
1 or 2 is great over a whole team.
Not 1-2 on every line.
If one crabs it up your the only person with them.

l have JHF but l'm also thinking of Caldwell for him. l even replaced Thomas for Rozee and kept Butters..Looks good

The more I check in this thread the more stressed I am about what changes I should make.
I'm thinking changing Dunkley for Dusty but he's usually a slow starter to the season.

Yeah understand that convention, I think it's a risk I'm willing to take in the circumstances of this year, particularly towards the start of the season where performance is less predictable, and more trades somewhat lessens the penalty for getting it wrong.

The biggest risks I'm taking are betting against Whitfield, Sicily, Hewett, Neale, Cripps (c.f. Kennedy), Berry (cf. Rayner), Gawn, Dunkley (c.f. Treloar), and most I have simple like-for-like swaps available.

Bowey the only pick I would question.
Pretty nice team mate.
Are you starting any mid-priced defenders? I really didn't want to but I felt I had to to ensure bodies on the ground.
I like Chapman but Bowey is a supercoach friendly player and I'd be happy with a 70 average from him tbh.
One head knock and McCartin is gone, Gibcus has questionable js and so does DeKoning imo.

Can you open the round one discussion thread.

Best to open it now so we can have one resource for everything in the lead up to round one.

Two trains of thought here - a team I'm pretty content with, although with a few more midpricers than I would ideally like, vs a riskier side that tries to find value and flexibility in the ruck line to play Preuss from R2 (who should score better than most rookies).

Version 1 - SETnFORGET SAFE ($50K remaining)

Version 2 - RUCK RISK ($90k remaining)

Effectively, the changes come down to:

Gawn v English
McGovern v Baldwin
Hinge v Sicily

I'd swing English forward for Hayes, bench Baldwin, and play Preuss in the rucks.

Not the biggest fan of Sicily, but I'll cop it.

What do people think - Option 1 or Option 2?

Opiton 2 but replace Preuss with Comden...If English performs he will be more of a cash cow than Gawn and you could use the Comben/ Hayes as your loophole.

No one has shown enough as a midprice defender.
Im starting the season with some cash banked in the hope that one shows up the first 2 rounds.

We won’t have to deal with Kennedy, none of of us. You will though, in a month or two.

Very cookie cutter, except for Weller. Considering dropping Durdin for a cheaper rookie and upgrading Boyd to Sinn, reckon that could lead to a bit more cash generation.
I love the Weller pick. Had him all pre season up until the weekend, reason, I’m weak as piss and will regret it.
