I don't understand this argument. It gets thrown around a bit.
If he is the fourth best mid rookie available, then isn't he worth it, regardless if he is on the bench or not? Money making is surely more important than getting his scores on the field.
Exacerbating this is the new DPP changes, where I could move Daicos into my backline after Round 6 and be able to play Stephens on field in place of a DEF rookie.
I get that it might be smarter to invest money into other lines (say, a Rachele) but I think Stephens will be a better rookie prospect than Josh in the long run.
Pray there are cheaper rookies than McCartin and Minge. Maybe don’t take all 3 of JHF, Daicos and Ward. Rowell if you really want to downgrade someone significant.
Better scoring/make more money is effectively the same though. Stephens is $43k so about 8 points more expensive. Don't think that difference will be significant, especially after a couple of price changes. If I'm taking a 167k rookie it's because I'm expecting him to score higher than a 123k rookie not because I expect the 167k to make more money. The cheaper rookies nearly always make more cash than the more expensive ones by virtue of the magic number.
Stephens might well end up a better scoring rookie than Rachelle, but Rachelle could well end up the highest averaging Fwd rookie but Stephens only the 5-10 best scoring mid rookie. It's not just about how much cash these rookies make you, points scored on-field is even more important if rank means anything to you.
You’ve got very good taste I’ll give you that.Still gotta work on my bench but after decades of research ive gone with...
Def: Hayek, Zeta-Jones, Daddario, Kerr, Kournikova, Ivanovic.
Mid: Johansson (C), De Armas (VC), Alba,
Natalie, The other Sexy Robbie, Gadot, Beckinsale, Cates.
Ruck: Kunis & Portman
Fwd: Vikander, Kreuk (Gotta have a POD), Kurylenko, Imbruglia, Theron, Gu (Everyones rookie lock).

If you have 3 mid rookies on field and judge Stephens the next best I'd say pick him even if he's not on field. The only time you don't is if the price difference gets you a better rookie on field somewhere else. Cash gen is king imo.
I’d put Hayek in the midfield. Impossible to execute an effective tackle on her.Still gotta work on my bench but after decades of research ive gone with...

Some of the 124k guys will be duds. If your confident in his JS he's worth the extra bit.He won't make as much as a 123k rookie
A ruck line of Kunis (1.63m) and Portman (1.60m) is an interesting choice ................I lost my train of thought.Still gotta work on my bench but after decades of research ive gone with...

Also, Stephens has too much uncontested ball .....too outside for me to consider, unless there's been a change since he was drafted .....but not taking that risk ATSHe won't make as much as a 123k rookie
In the Ruck I’d have Maria Sharapova who is 6’1Still gotta work on my bench but after decades of research ive gone with...

Not sure how you're fitting them all under the salary either.I imagined them in a number of positions.....and um yeah

You're correct .....it's just that there are options at cheaper prices that will ave at least 65-70 ......Give me Macdonald who tackles hard, adding to his scoring capacityHe just needs to average 65-70 to be good enough, he can do that in an outside role with a spot there for him to take.
Cerra >>>> HewettBesides Cripps and Walsh, the blues have a bang avg midfield. He'll be in there full time.
Full time mid selectable in def.
