I think it's going to be pretty hard for fans to move on if they continue to be focused on this or that individual. Durds is copping a bit but even that late i50 decision could be justified if you look at where Charlie was standing vs Howe in the moment it was kicked - Charlie didn't move and as we know Howe cleaned it up easily.

Now, that's not on Charlie, but it's also absolutely not crazy for Durds to expect a forward to move to that spot

Play the percentages, especially at that stage of the game.

LOB and Cotters slightly improved this year, but I feel we’ll be a much better team with 2 quality wingers that have pace and can use the ball more consistently. That’s our biggest area of need and I’d be happy to spend our 1st and 2nd rounders / FA money to get them.
Plus a midsize fwd play maker, JSOS is the only one good at it. Durds, Motlop, And Owies are horrible options in the middle of the ground and most of the time get spoilt when we try passing it to them. 3 smalls fwds and Fisher hasn’t worked imo. Wish we could have put Gov there

That loss hurts more than any I can remember. Missing finals is a missed opportunity, but our results against the top teams suggest we would have been making up the numbers. At our best, we can score heavily against most teams, but there is still a big gap in our performance from quarter-to-quarter.
We have a team that can compete with any side in the competition, even though we are younger and less experienced. We need to grow to not only compete with the best teams, but to beat them, consistently. Voss is daring the group to be great and demanding that we put in the work to get there. That fills me with confidence that we will improve next year - it takes many years to collect the pieces of a winning team and it feels like we finally have them.
Continuity and experience playing together give teams confidence and structure to win the big moments. As much better as it hurts that we’re not there yet, we will get there…

He had Harry on a lead 20m in front of him wide open and kicked it over his head hoping the deep forward would react. The poor decision wasn't top of the square vs the pocket, the poor decision was completely ignoring the 204cm key forward wide open 25m in front of him.

Mckay is in the clear right in front of him
I think he may have been trying to lace mckay and then kicked it well over his head

In retrospect, that game against the Crows really derailed our season.

Not only did we drop the 4 points that would have had us playing Finals, we also lost both Kennedy and Newman for the season. Two exceptionally dependable players who would have made a positive difference yesterday and last week.
The Hewett injury out of everyone else pissed me off the most. **** back injuries

Im a pretty quiet watcher of footy but geez I couldnt contain it when Durdin kicked into the pocket.

But you watch how we play, and we do it all the time. So while he was probably following team rules, it was fair dinkum brain dead football.
Don't worry I was the same and I don't normally like you guys 🤣

For anyone who watched the Jumper Punch all year on YouTube. Rocco said all year long that the kick around the body will cost us big time one day. Boy was he right, cost us on the final day big time.

I thought McCraes presser was interesting. He didn’t think the Pies were going to come back yesterday. We were too dominant and one more goal would have nailed it.
What he did say is that the Pies are the best he’s seen at making the most of the moment. And that seems to sun it up over the last two weeks. We probably had more “moments” than our opponents over the last two weeks but just don’t have the mental capacity to take them. Collingwood will make more of far fewer moments. I guess we call it efficiency. If we can lift our efficiency through maturity, poise, experience and training, there won’t be many teams above us

Not sure that's right.

Cats beat us by 4 goals but it was far from a wipeout.

Dees we pumped in pre season and we know about last week.

Swans we beat. Comfortably.

Pies - beaten twice by a bee's dick....

Our problem is not turning up against the lesser teams - Saints, Crows, Gold Coast, Adelaide - those games are the real reason we're not playing finals.

I was just as angry as everyone else on here yesterday about Durds’ kick… But since sleeping on it, I just want to say that the bloke is just a kid. 20 years old. He made a mistake, we all do. Don’t bash one of our own young players over one incident. He’ll learn from it.

yep, many made mistakes during the course of the game - that one was just late in the piece and a glaringly awful 'decision'....

Yes the Pies tsunami came on in the last as expected and they only just knock us over by the slightest of margin.
our boys did us proud a tremendous 3 rd quarter of power football was mesmerizing but one incredible quater out footy only,
ain’t going to cut it.
Simply our playing list needs an overhaul, I’ve been preaching for months.
We’ll see if our administration has the gumption to do the unpopular, it’s the only way we go forward.
Go Baggers, thanks for an amazing 2022 campaign.
We‘ll only become stronger in 2023/24, competition watch out.

Knowing our kicking skills and F50 connection I wouldn’t be surprised if he was trying to hit up Harry....

Two weeks in a row we let it slip. Don’t we have someone on the boundary watching the clock and getting the message out to flood back, keep possession, slow it down? Coz I thought we would have learnt after last week though.

But still, happy with our year.

Like all I was gutted last night. Decided to take it out on the punching bag in the shed rather than coming on here. It for the first time surrendered :drunk:. Remember revenge is best served cold. ( but letting down your pies mate's tyres is alright) roll on next year:carlton:

For anyone who watched the Jumper Punch all year on YouTube. Rocco said all year long that the kick around the body will cost us big time one day. Boy was he right, cost us on the final day big time.

That’s assuming Charlie nails the set shot yesterday instead of going for the snap. Which evidence suggested yesterday that he was struggling to kick the drop punt set shots.

I’ve got no issue with Charlie’s quick play on. He’s done it many times before this year and it’s worked. It allows to him to play on instinct and raw talent instead of over-thinking the set shot. He’ll learn when and when not to do it. But I think when you have players as talented as what Curnow is, you need to trust their instinct in those scenarios and let them kick it how they want to kick it. However unconventional that may be.

Yes, he missed. Yes, it hurt us. However three were many other moments outside of that shot which cost us yesterday.

Let the boys shoot how they want to shoot at goal, just need to work on the execution at times.
