Weitering has a habit of flagging an injury when it occurs, no doubt...
However never seen him not play through or be largely effected on field through adversity...

I know I'm not out there but there is a bit 'drama queen' with Weiters and his injuries at times (not the shoulder).

I dont care how many mistakes the players made during the game.
That happens and always has.

But that blocking free/Cripps mark reversal was criminal.

That cost us the game.

Worst decision ive ever seen in nearly 50 years and still cant fathom it.

So obvious pushing by Quaynor of jsos into Cameron. It's unbelievable it wasn't picked up by umpire(s). It is so clear on replay. *........ Umpires!!!

I've always felt that in situations like that I'm all for the bunker giving a quick "fair mark" or whatever into the umpire's earpiece once he's blown the whistle

LOB needs to hit the scoreboard more as well, got a damaging left peg but he doesnt kick enough goals like an issac smith does
A lot of players need to hit the scoreboard more for us. We have a dearth of goal kickers. No goal kicking mids, no goal kicking wingmen and few goal kicking forwards.

Would've thought being a natural goal kicker was a pre-requisite for playing forward but apparently not.

Had a very suspect I50 in the 4th yest.

Could have either put in on himself to have a proper shot at goal, find a short target, or hit the top of the square 10-15 metres out.

Did none of these, put it on Motlop's head in the gl square, and the Pies easily spoiled it through for a behind.

Just dumb footy.

when his kicking is a 'strength' of his game - he does a lot of ordinary kicks. Something he needs to be much better at. Some of his kicks are fantastic but too many are terrible. Like a lot of others, needs to lessen the gap between his best and worst

Does anyone else think Weiterings drop in form, is just a result of him not being the main man...
Since being in the side Young, Marchbank and McGovern have all stood up and taken some of Weiterings possessions...

Nope…

Drop in form was because he missed 6 weeks of continuity…

He went ok yesterday, but just ok.

Whenever he has ball in hand he simply freezes....then takes a bad option.

Let's be honest, in a 1 on 1 contest and overhead he is near useless.

Not to blame for yesterday's capitulation, but he's a mile off being a good winger.

I think Weiterings role is an interesting one. I think he takes to his role of a 1v1 defender to the enth degree. He can get taken out of the game by his 1v1 opponent by simply dropping away from the contest, he needs to peel off a bit more regularly. He did that a few times in the 2nd half yesterday and looked the best he has for months imo.

I also wouldn't mind seeing his role change now and then from 1v1 lockdown to interceptor. He reads the play like a champ, has great hands and is an elite kick so would be great for setting up rebounds.

The other thing with being a 1v1, and I'm not suggesting he does this just flagging it as a possibility, is there can be a bit of washing the hands of responsibility in that "I didn't impact the contest because I was locking down my man" kind of excuse. Not sure he's the type to do it intentionally but maybe on occasion that decision creeps into your mind without even noticing. If you give someone an out they're likely to take it, intentional or not.

Also for those potting Pitt. While he might not win the hitouts, Cripps is the best mid in the comp when he plays and we win clearances

Thought Pitt was good considering he has played stuff all footy in the last 3 months.

Takes the big guys a good month to get their match fitness back…

I've been criticised many times on here for saying his kicking isn't elite and suggesting it's a little bit of a myth. I still say it isn't because of what you just said, he can hit elite kicks but for a supposed elite kick he misses a lot and sometimes outright shanks them.

Consistency is what makes an elite kick, not just sometimes

I think it's going to be pretty hard for fans to move on if they continue to be focused on this or that individual. Durds is copping a bit but even that late i50 decision could be justified if you look at where Charlie was standing vs Howe in the moment it was kicked - Charlie didn't move and as we know Howe cleaned it up easily.

Now, that's not on Charlie, but it's also absolutely not crazy for Durds to expect a forward to move to that spot

Was pretty pissed off last night, hopefully didn’t offend anyone.

Gutted.
I was going to pm you to see if you were ok.

You were mightily pissed off.

I too am still gutted today but hopefully we can learn from it. The players really need to take this on and own the result. Only way they will grow.

It’s one moment and unfortunately for him it will stick in everyone’s mind given the context but it was incredibly poor decision that can’t be dressed up. Either hit Harry on the lead or put it to the square so we can get a point at least. It was a brain fade and was a crazy decision given context of the game but wasn’t the only one

I don't think it's fair to single out one or two plays yesterday when we ended up .6% out of finals. St. Kilda loss was more annoying. They will learn it takes the whole year not just one great 3rd quarter in one match.

LOB and Cotters slightly improved this year, but I feel we’ll be a much better team with 2 quality wingers that have pace and can use the ball more consistently. That’s our biggest area of need and I’d be happy to spend our 1st and 2nd rounders / FA money to get them.

I don't believe people are potting Pitt, more indicating he has limitations and does little or nothing around the ground.

He looked super unfit and slow. Not sure he was 100% right when he came back into the side...clearly underdone.

I'm probably out of my mind, but if Collingwood want to offload Grundy but pay half his wage to release cap pressure, I'd be all in...even with some injury concerns.

Agree but shouldn’t pretend that it wasn’t a terrible decision either. He’ll learn from it…hopefully
