Honestly, yeah. I'm not picking Gawn, he's way overpriced. He's a superstar so he'll still be good, but he'll never be as good as he was pre-Jackson again.Gawn and Jackson?
Cox is a forward who rucks a bit, that's not the same thing. Every team has a chip out. The issue is the teams that have two guys who are most suited to the #1 ruck role. Flynn and Preuss aren't forwards, Xerri and Goldstein aren't forwards, McInerney and Fort aren't forwards.Grundy /Cox
That is a hard one.JHF, Rachele, Ward
Pick 2
Which ones?
Basically looking for some confirmation bias to make me feel better for not picking JHF

What does MacDonald ave versus JHF ?Peeps be agonizing over rookies this year.
Even not taking JHF and he averages 80 can be worked around.
Missing one good rookie is not the be all and end all.
Hough has trained down back all preseason I believe. I've gone owens because he weighs more FWIWSwitched from Hough to Owens
Shuey - Test
Duggan - 1-2 weeks
West - 2 weeks
Yeo - 2-3 weeks
Owens the better SC scorer also - its a risk, but one I am willing to take
JHF is a better onfield option. A bit expensive for the benchWhat does MacDonald ave versus JHF ?
IF
JHF averages 75 .....he's priced at $358K after 8 rounds ....making $151K
McD averages 60 .... he's priced at $279K after 8 rounds ....making $162K ....and saving $90K in price
Depends on what you see JHF averaging .....I see him averaging more after the first 8 rounds, as he gets better & better ...and given more mid time
Hayes / Martin .....Hayes solid JS as backup ruck ....but also was a key forward at WWTNeed to take two of Hayes/Dixon/Martin, and two of Soligo/Hough/Owens.
Anyone care to make a case? Have Hayes, Martin, Soligo, Hough atm, but really aren't invested in any of them.
Thought Allen was closer to returning than he actually is. The R/F swing is handy, as is Dixon's JS, though he does scream 35-40 average if Williams (as expected) plays the back up minutes in the ruck. Hard to know as Martin seems to have good scoring potential, but could be out as soon as next week.Hayes / Martin .....Hayes solid JS as backup ruck ....but also was a key forward at WWT
Hayes / Dixon ...if you want a loop to R3
Soligo / Owens .....Soligo will get a good block of games, and has a contested side that is good for SC ....Owens always impressed in U18's as a mature body, hard at it mid
Hough, seems to be last man standing at WC

Are you confident in Owens JS?Switched from Hough to Owens

Just my opinion, but I see Meade out pretty quickly in a strong port side
Sinn will play early
Motlop an emergency
Bergman to come in next week
Meade lost all interest for me in his last praccy game
I would rather mcentee who missed out too
But like you say getting a round 1 gig is a good sign, had big wraps pre season and Nelso gave him a tick of approval during pre season who is a gun sc player. If you like him pick him
I just think McDonald will play more, soligo has managed a spot all
Pre season and named round 1 in a bottom 6 side then ownens who’s a wild card and obviously Hough who you would know more on then any of us. I’m going Stephens, Hough and McDonald on the bench personally but Meade might surprise us all and be a great 60+ cheapie
Had him most of pre season so won’t say don’t pick him now
I switched from Soligo to OwensSwitched from Hough to Owens

But locking in Hough. Over 80% ToG in the praccy. Will rack up marks and kicks down back. Duggan the only one listed that effects him, and Duggan might be needed in the middle. Hough can also play wing.
Grundy /Cox
fwds:
I'd leave out Dixon, just because his scoring output looks the lowest
fwiw I'm taking all 3
mids:
I'm locking in Hough. He had over 80% ToG in the preseason match, has a big tank. Will play at half back, can rack up marks and kicks. I think he can stick around as well
of the other 2 it's a real coin toss. Both love contested ball, but Owns will get CBAs. Issue is they got a bunch of mids to return soon. I ended up deciding to take Owens in the hope that he does well enough to stick around for a few weeks. Very impressive stats in the preseason match with limited ToG
That is a hard one.
Ward probably got about 50 his first pre season game (this is a guess as we didn't have scores). 120 second game.
Rachele 2 x80s
JHF 2 x 80s
I think you need them all mate.
Still just 2 forwards + 2 rucks, mobility somewhat of a concern but Xerri cracks in at ground level and Larkey has good I50 tackle numbers for a KF.
It's not that tall, it's just a question if the combo works/gels.
I'm thinking Xerri 1st ruck, Bench when resting. Useless as forward.
Goldy 2nd ruck, forward/roaming as resting.
Larkey 1st KF, >90% TOG
CCJ 2nd KF, bench when resting
I was pondering the same thing I chose to ditch Berry as it gave me a Sicily to Short upgrade.Yeah it’s quite the conundrum
Other option is I take all 3 rookies and drop Berry. War chest also rises from 50k to 110k
Basically pick 3 of Berry, JHF, Ward, Rachele
OR run a loophole donut in DEF and pray 1 of SDK or Gibcus keep getting named for next 6ish weeks
