Did you end up sticking with Simpkin mate? I had him all pre-season but moved him to Brayshaw in the last few days given his limited pre-season. Didn't seem to matter today though looking at the stats. Think he'll be a banging pick all year.
No I wish I had though, I think he’ll be great. He’s a really good example of how sometimes pre season chatter and AAMI series games can change our teams for the worse. If I just played the team I had back in February he definitely would have been in it haha

I've only been watching footy since 2014. Never took my fantasy team seriously as I was just learning the game. Last year I really wanted to try and Covid screwed that royally. So this is my first year really trying. I lurked this board and read everything you all said.

I scored 1997 good for 15,737. That's with Martin as utility, Rachelle at F7, Hayes at R3 and with Dusty and Thomas in my side. I should've looped Hayes as Witts was my R2 I should've looped Petracca but kept Touk as C because I thought he would go for 150.

Thanks to all of you for making me feel competent.

One funny thing this week about the results is that the big premium midfielders/rucks, largely failed to fire. Macrae got 120-odd, Brayshaw the same, Petracca was excellent but Touk and Steele didnt really fire. Nor Gawndy either....

So - the smarter option would have been to start with a cheaper midfield group - and then put that money into Defence - as we considered there were fewer options there.

Which would have meant paying up for Crisp, Short, Dawson, Whitfield - and having a deeper defence - which would have just burnt the cash anyway.... As they were largely rubbish (Hall aside).

And most likely meant we didn't pick Hayes, Martin etc as cheaper options....

So we were screwed either way.... Cause not many of us would have had the cheaper mids, the cheap rookies and $1M on the sidelines for this week...

Only one round though. I fully expect all those players to bounce back this week, which is why I am hesitant to trade any of them.

Agreed - it's just an interesting quirk. I'm not suggesting trading them, it's just if we'd gone that way - we would have just wasted the cash in another area - as expensive defenders shat the bed in a big way...

It seemed like the best option was going mid-price madness in every line and keeping 4 mil in the bank 🤣
