Marchbank is the glass.

I think we need to roll the dice.. now or never.

What's the point of having him on the list if he is constantly out of the side or in rehab?

Why playing him in the reserves, risk another serous injury, whilst we are paper thin down back? He isn't on the list to play reserve grade his whole career..

IF we did have Weitering and Mcgov fit and firing I could see the merit.. but to be honest, season is on the line at this point, with a lot of 8 point games coming up (undermanned)

Even if was only a good two or three weeks out of him in the seniors might at least cover the cracks until we get Weiters, McGov and Pitto back..

Strength and speed didn't shine through, struggled in transition, handballed to team mates under more pressure than himself like clockwork.

My overall conclusion is that he plays an immature brand of football.

Selling teammates into pressure, ill-directed rushed kicks, thinks he has more time than he actually does in traffic, lack of second efforts...

It's junior footy stuff that he hasn't grown out of.

Outs: Weitering, Motlop, Carroll
Ins: Kemp, Martin, Kennedy

Marchbank would have to be a chance if his knee is ok.
When Marchy does retire watch the club's health insurance premiums fall by 40%.

He is. I say we make him or break him. If he can't play when we really need him, then what's the point?

Sadly this….he’s fit, he’s not match fit but he’s fit enough in our situation.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Kemp come into the squad of 23 as well

If there's any game we could bring Marchbank in for, its this one. Surely he can't get injured against a soft turd mob...

OUT: Carrol, Motlop, Dow, Weitering
IN: Marchbank, Martin, Kennedy, Kemp

Newnes escapes my wrath for now....

thought we looked tired on sunday - don't ask me what that looks like I just did - and then when 23 went off it was like an army hearing its general had been killed - a palpable sense at the ground as our energy lagged, seemed to take a lot of our fight and composure with him.......
what does tired look like?

Just incredible that somehow, Charlie Curnow has become the most relied upon tall on our list

For me, changes id make:

Outs: Weitering, Motlop, Carrol, Dow
Ins: Mirkov, Kemp, Kennedy, Martin

Mirkov to 60/40 in ruck with TDK, no need to use Cripps or JSOS in the ruck, better structure - TDK to spend time fwd when not rucking/benched (or maybe even drop in the whole CHB to help out)
Kemp to play as a backman
Others self explanatory

We just gotta play Mirkov. Ready or not. Too many players playing positions they shouldn’t. Just messes up structure big time. Put Mirkov in and see how he goes. Can’t do worse than Sos or Cripps

Mirkov injured ankle, needs to repair that firstly to be fit to play (looked a bad one but only 2 weeks out in the end was the diagnosis…to be continued in our injury report next week).

From a psychological perspective Marchbank would be the worst one to pick. He's come back after years to play VFL, second game in another worry/issue. Let's thrust him into an important AFL game, where it'll be *'s 150th.... they'll roll in club champions, make a big thing of it and * players most likely may actually respond in some way, and no doubt be physical. Let's thrust him into the deep end and take a risk that he'll just not be trusting or confident he'll make it through a game unscathed. Needs 2-3 FULL VFL games before I'd even consider it.

If he's allowed to play as a loose defender he'd get through the game.

Bit like Kouta going down in that Semi in 2001.

Heads just dropped, for 15 minutes either side of quarter time we were totally rudderless.

Bloody lucky the Pies couldn’t kick straight.

Pending MSD pickups and how they fit in, I think we've gotta be looking at:

OUT: Weitering, Dow, Motlop, Carroll (Sub)
IN: Marchbank, Kennedy, Martin (Sub)

Plowman, Young, Newman
Docherty, Marchbank, Saad
Walsh, Hewett, LOB
TDK, Cripps, Cerra
Martin, JSOS, Fisher
Durdin, Curnow, Owies
I/C: Kennedy, Newnes, Stocker, Cottrell
Sub: Kemp

Marchy could break anywhere, any time, so just get what senior footy we can out of him while it's as dire as it is. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Play Kemp as the sub, at least gives us a little bit of coverage there. If Marchbank can't put together a couple of months of AFL-level footy, then his position on the list should probably be freed up at year's end.

Kennedy and Martin for Dow and Motlop strengthen the mid and forward lines, and give us some mature bodies to throw at the fragile Bombers. Both can play as pseudo-talls up forward, so we can utilise them there and get a bit more ruck time out of JSOS, leaving Cripps to play as an actual mid. Unlucky for Motlop, he's not doing anything wrong, but a fit Martin offers some necessary versatility. Feels a bit shit to drop Dow after one OK game, but Kennedy straight up does what Dow does, but better. And then he does other stuff too - like taking marks, which we need through the corridor.
