You guys did well to hang in there given we had 76 inside 50's.

Funny that the narrative all week was that Carlton's defence would get stretched yet they held up well given the circumstances - was actually lost in the clearances, Carlton smashed there surprisingly.

Good chance we meet in the finals? Wouldn't bet against it.

Reckon system and effort won it tonight, Carlton too niaive in the wet in the first half
Half a season v 8 years. Our system needs a bit more drilling. Getting there.

Considering the wet condition totally suited Tigers, & umpire decisions against us, & us over using the handballs & our injuries list.
We could have won this game if we kicked all the gettable goals. At least 3 - 4 easy set shots missed.

With close to our full strength side we beat them easy.
Oh well, on to next week.

Missed most of the game, the loss is disappointing, our manner in which we payed in the last 10 or so minutes lacked composure, several instances we rushed, played on from bad positions and were frantic like it was the last 2 minutes, in these instances there were 5 or more minutes on the clock.

Regardless of getting close, Richmond always seemed to have more players at the contest, I just saw their inside 50 numbers which were huge.

A solid second half but lost to a better side.

The positive take away is that Boyd, Cottrell and LOB look like players now.

Too bad they aren’t 15cm taller though!

I reckon the Cerra out hurts us more than we believe, he allows us to forward handball and outnumber at ground level because he sets up so well on the back of his work rate.

Young stood up massively in the 3rd and 4th - not only nullifying Lynch’s impact but getting plenty of the footy himself and being generally good with ball in hand.

Our injury list is deplorable and it hurts to see us lose to a team I genuinely believe we are better than. That’s footy though.

Full credit to the Tigers they pressured us and made us cough it up in dangerous positions over and over again. Didn’t need to work as hard as our hardest workers because they worked better as a unit.

I’m angry at Weiters for that stupid unnecessary bump.
I’m angry at the AFLs stupid Covid protocols that cost us Jones.
I’m angry at Fisher for doing bugger all for his best mates milestone.
I’m angry at our coaches for not getting them to play smarter wet weather footy.
I’m angry that Curnow played a stupid stupid game.
I’m angry that the umpires pull continuos inconsistent crud out of their arse.
I’m angry that we have LOB, Martin being gifted games and don’t put in enough.
I’m angry that the score review th is that was touched with clear definitive purpose.
I’m angry that we may miss finals.

If that Newnes kick wasn’t touched we would have won … footy gods hate us. Big Durdin knee injury and a tiggers goal shortly after.

We just can’t cop a break! I’m trying to be the bigger man but RFC did get the rub of the green with the umps tonight, we started like rubbish but just when Newnes scored that “goal” all I could think was geez I’m proud of these boys. ****ing BRAVE! * take note that’s what brave looks like … we showed it in ample parts tonight.

**** the injury gods!

Anyone know what happened to big Durds?
