Here's the thing about Durdin....he was quieter than last week, but that was mostly because the talls were clunking them and slotting goals early, and late in the game we couldn't get it forward.

There's a real penchant on BigFooty for reactionary changes. Someone has a quiet week, may as well drop them and see if someone else can do more. I'm pretty confident that's not the right approach, nor is it the one the coaches will take.

No "omitting" players after a single quiet outing, especially those in roles which are traditionally feast-or-famine.

exactly, the talls dominate and people wonder why the smalls were quiet.....

durdin was good first half quiet 2nd half, owies teamed up with big H alot and was much better than last week. both keep their spot easily.

More info required to suggest ins and outs
Are Cerra and Martin sick or just positives?
McDonald has a recent history of back issues. Reckon Young is almost certain.
JSOS sore knee, may be touch and go.

Nobody deserves to be dropped. Like many, I previously regarded LOB and Setters as possible/probable players to make way. Both played important parts last night and are building. Safe for mine.

Durds faded during game, but was off an injury cloud, so a bit underdone on training track and plays a high pressure game. Ten day break surely has him primed. Fog will be first out for Cez.

Cerra, Martin and Young likely in. Giving Kemp a chance to come in with a big performance in the twos if JSOS is in doubt.

Still struggling with the concept of youngsters Stocker, Kemp, Carroll, Dow, Motlop and maybe Honey and Philp “demanding”game time. (Not to mention Ed, Newnes and Plow ever ready to step up, with Marchy and Cuningham to return later)
Is cottrell close ?
He adds a bit of leg and desire
Or not yet?

Beating Tim English to the tap is not an achievement to be crowing about. In the second half the Doggies adapted and used him as an extra mid more and more, opening their game up.

Pittonet then proceeded to fade into the background.
I don't look at stats, but to the eye Pitto's ruckwork to our advantage was first class.
The drive into our forward line from this midfield group makes our attack so much more dangerous this season.

edit. From an opponents perspective, it might be "beat their midfield-and you beat Carlton".

I'm nervous about this game.
Reality is, we should expect some ups and downs this year as players adjust to new roles, new game plan, new coaches, new teammates.
I'm not trying to be cocky, but I had a calmness and confidence about the past 2 weeks. I tipped us both times and I only do that if I think we can win. I'm debating whether to tip us next week.
Very winnable game and we'll go in as favourites. Will be interesting to see of the players take a lesser opponent just as seriously as the last two and don't get ahead of themselves. I trust Voss to keep them level headed and focused.

Pitt and TDK is a balanced combo
Working great in my opinion
Yep. I've also been happy with Pitto's follow up and ground work. Did some nice things with ball in hand. Less of a threat up forward than TDK, but that's ok.

11 hitouts to advantage to 2 at half time. 11 HOtoA in a half of footy is pretty damn good. Not sure how many were Pitto and how many TDK. Just thought it was worth highlighting.

I'd like the club to ask the AFL for clarification on Pitto constantly getting called for blocks at the centre bounce. Both weeks. I saw a few the other way that I thought were the same action as his and they weren't called. Reckon most have been due to the umpire's bounce of the ball.

I thought our forward setup was very effective. Dogs love to zone, but higher than most sides. Most times our small forwards led way higher up the ground, leaving plenty of space behind them for Charlie and H to lead into

I think we may be taking it for granted that Cerra and Martin are actually WELL ENOUGH to play.

Covid can hit you hard, Hopefully not.

Otherwise simple for mine....

Fogs tried hard and did some good things but Martin has to come in.

Newman for Cerra.....Yeah I know numbers and like for like but there was one moment that sealed it for mine.
Watch the replay . NOT GOOD, Did not put his body on the line .

Do we know if Cerra actually has COVID? I thought he was just isolating.
