no surprises in the no vote

scats and shemans fans love it cos it allowed them to win flags

why dont they just make it so every oppo player has to stand at all times when someone from the other team has possession of the ball

would make for a lot more goals and ad breaks. sounds like a win win to me

In five years AFL will be an AFLX/Netball/Basketball hybrid and we will all be taking our kids/grandkids to soccer training instead and wondering wtf happened to our great game.

That's how bad it's become.

the game has never been/looked worse in my lifetime

in the afl survey a year ago the number one issue amongst fans was the rule changes and yet the afl funded media didnt even report on it
They pushed for further change. The silence from the media on the topic atm has a bit of "mission accomplished" about it.

depends whether we win the next couple flagsj

and since we will you're right

Some people don't like seeing pressure and the resultant 'chaos'. SHocking is one. therefore AFLX. Which ended up being something that very few people, not zero but close to it, wanted to watch. The stand rule limits pressure nd supposedly allows for more skills.

So coaches, who aren't stupid, drop their defenses deeper so that teams can play on from the free/mark and have to kick it to a contest. So the rule defeats itself, because the idiots running the AFL thought by solving one 'problem' they would have a final solution. It's never worked before, and won't work. Clubs are too smart and work out how to manipulate / defeat the rule change.

They keep making these changes and they keep running into the fact that other people outsmart them. Just stop. But they don't learn.

And yes, pointing out that all this manipulation of the game makes people annoyed and makes the game worse means you are excluded from the AFL's bounty. So the supposed experts just say 'brilliant idea SHocking' and then are shocked that it leads to ..... lower scoring and more congested footy.
Same with the 666 rule, no longer can u isolate a 1v1 in the goal sqr at a centre bounce, as we did with Dusty just before half time in '17 GF. now any quick kick goes to a 12 man contest. Also the kick in rule, that allows the ball to move 15-20 further up the ground from a kick in but it's now harder to score from turning those kicks over as instead of being 50m & 1 kick from goal it's now 75m & 2 kicks away & the defense has time to set up in case it is turned over. As we saw with the rectangle/18m goal sqr they were going to change anything for the sake of it so they can be seen doing something. Tho the writing was on the wall when they let ppl such as Whateley on the rules committee...

Wasn't last year the lowest scoring? Like before Wankley and co pushed the state of the game, it was higher scoring then. I've watched some good awful games since the stand rule came in. Its a fkg joke. Why bring bullshit rules in (that never made it higher scoring). Let the game evolve naturally.

Whateley & co's 9 rule changes for '19 to "increase scoring & open the game up" led to the lowest scoring season since '67. Instead of simply saying "we got it wrong" & revert the rules back they went for further changes. F1 has been making the same mistake for decades.

Well there you go. Complete fckg wank.

SO WHERE IS THE STATE OF THE GAME NOW? LOWEST SCORING SINCE 1967.

Well of course it was introduced to negate the pressure footy. If s defender is as useful as a traffic cone it plays into Scats no pressure (let us play) footy. Only people love it are Scats, dees and bombers (delusional think they are a flag chance every year).

Teams that if you give them no pressure will tear you apart. But once you make em earn it they crumble.
Aints fans would love it as well
