So I guess we'll have a look at Liam McBean now then?

Just thinking, but if we were to open a second spot (possibly LTI Parks or OMac), could one selection come from our VFL side? It would seem they would have some idea of game plan and players and be more 'ready to go'? Could that mean Jesse Glass-McCasker for 6 months?

Personally, if we select a player, I believe it will be more of an eye to the future player (most likely outside VFL Team), rather than a 'could possibly meet some immediate need' type player...

Could be from anywhere. Personally my preference is always to look outside of the club so you add to the player pool for the lower level too, unless of course there's a clear standout.

Levi Casboult? Too soon?

Can cross Derksen off your list Jim, wasn't granted an exemption to nominate for the MSD (didn't nominate for the 2021 AFL draft, so was ineligible without an exemption).
Throw Jai Culley into the mix then, though he'll probably disappear before we get to pick.

Both Will Reinhold and Sam Durdin thanks :thumbsu:

- If an inactive, injured player is fit to play before the season ends, a club can apply to return that player to the primary list in place of another long-term injured player
PS if Williams plays again this year I'll go He.
And if there’s no other LTI-eligible player…?

I think the rules are pretty clear here. Regardless of whether or not we think he’ll return, it’s been deemed a 10-12 week injury.

That’s not severe enough to give us another pick.

We have Parks, McGovern, McDonald and Williams who wont be ready till the last 4-6 weeks of the season. Agree we need put at least 1 on the LTI to take an extra midseason pick but not sure it should be Williams. He could be a difference maker come finals.

Agree we shouldnt put Williams on the LTI but if we did want to wrap him or any other player who is injured for most the year in cotton wool to take an extra pick I doubt that would be a problem.

I don’t think ‘wanting to wrap someone in cotton wool’ is the determining factor on what is or isn’t a LTI.

It would most likely have to be approved by multiple doctors. There wouldn’t be wriggle room there to exploit.

We have apparently met with Jacob Bauer. Has had a strong start to the year in the SANFL. Looks to be very strong overhead. Ex-Swans academy member, so I assume Luke Parks would know him reasonably well.

Josh Carmichael is another who has been mentioned. He recently received an exemption from the AFL and is now eligible for selection.
