No, what you're reading here is garden variety bias being massaged into groupthink.

One viewing of their respective highlights will tell you who is quicker, and who has the higher top speed.

Ignore the arguments that hand-wave away basic logic without data or methodology. Williamson isn't good at change of direction aside from quick cuts, but he's extremely fast for his size.

There are plenty of cases of athletes who run better sprint times on track than they do in their given sporting conditions, but it's not so alarming as to send someone from the top of their draft class down to the bottom of third of their clubs' list, and it certainly doesn't happen without warning whether that be from junior footage or related athletic testing.
Luke Livingston?

Still, less than 50 games for the pick we got for Hammill is disappointing.

We got Hamill back now.

Does that mean we got Luke Livingston for free?

:p

Looks like Stocker participated in full training yesterday..
Do we have a Reserves game organised for next weekend, or did Brad Lloyd neglect to organise one (again)?

Good to see you round again Cookie, we look like a good side this year, get up and about

I’m getting excited / nervous and I welcome those feelings. Grrr.

I don't think it's just me but I feel different this season around, usually I'm hoping Carlton will win. I really think we should win now. Just a praccy but the boys looked switched on last week.

He had some bad luck with injury and pagan bringing Martyn to nurse him to 300 didn't help either.

I thought Livingston was ill-served by Carlton. From memory he was good in his junior football as a CHF and yet was thrown when just a raw kid to play full back against the real gorilla forwards of that time. He stood no chance.

OTOH, Thornton took to the situation well, and he was only a rookie pick. Looking back, it was a disastrous draft - not just for us either.

I only mentioned his name because he was a player who had good if not great draft camp results but looked a bit flat-footed when he actually played the game. They probably should have tried to ease him in up forward rather than throw him to the wolves down back.

He was tried up forward initially but he was an atrocious kick for goal.

He was touted as the next best tall in the draft after Riewoldt and Kositske.

second worst crack at "kossitskee" ever.....

Kicked 103 goals for Kerang in one season so not so atrocious it would appear

There were some strange coaching decisions in the early 2000's. A 192cm kid (Livingston) as a full back and a couple of years later , one of the best footballers I have ever seen (Koutoufides ) thrown into the ruck.
At 191cm his athleticism and leap made him competitive but I believe rucking/knee collisions was the main reason for his second ACL from which he never truly recovered in a football sense. A pure footballer destroyed by coaching error.

Do we have an update on Stocker?
Going on photos he seems to be involved in full training again
Another one of those players I feel that, like Doc, will be absolutely busting a gut to be out there early in the season
Can't wait to have him back

Automatic selection when he's ready. He has more mongrol than anyone on our list.
