Anyone want to go down and ask Fyfe how the fu** he manages to gain 9kg of muscle after a shoulder surgery in October ? Asking for a mate.

3 months of pre season and he’s already looking as good as he ever has. Need some of that stem cell infusion.
Zac Clarke couldn’t gain much. Tim English needs that plan. Always looks 5 kg off as a ruckman.

Once you have that level of muscle it is easier to bounce back to his default level.

Going from 0 muscle to +9kg muscle. That's a different story.

Fremantle Dockers star Caleb Serong says club has ‘had enough’ of hearing about their potential

Fremantle star Caleb Serong says the Dockers have “had enough” of hearing about how good the club could be, saying they are ready to deliver on their potential in season 2022.
The 21-year-old, who became the newest member of Fremantle’s leadership group earlier this week, declared the playing group’s animosity towards the phrase after narrowly missing out on finals again last year.
The Dockers finished in 11th spot last season, just one win and percentage out of the eight - a pill made even tougher to swallow by a demoralising 58-point drubbing by St Kilda in the final round.

It was not a good end to the season for Fremantle, who had shown glimpses of improvement in 2021.

But while 2021 saw flickers of improvement, players’ stocks rise and a culture crusade by Fremantle, Serong says the team are done building the vehicle for success and are ready to hit the accelerator.

“The last four or five years we’ve turned to youth and tried to really draft well and get good, young characters in with a lot of talent,” Serong told Triple M.

“Over the last year or two, we’ve been able to see the potential of the group, but I think at this stage we’re at a point where we’ve had enough of hearing that word ‘potential ‘and what we could achieve and how good we could be.

“For us, we just want to win games for the Freo footy club and play in big games.”

Serong praised the attitude of the young crop of Dockers, who are giving the senior players added motivation this pre-season.

“Within the four walls, you see the intensity that everyone is bringing day-to-day and the standards are being lifted and that’s being driven from the younger guys,” he said.
“(Their) work ethic and appetite to get better has gone to another level again.
“I guess with that kind of intensity and enthusiasm, it drives those older boys along as well and brings them along for the ride.”
Fremantle’s midfield prowess took a hit with the departure of former number five pick Adam Cerra, who joined Carlton in the trade period in exchange for pick six.
That selection was used to recruit East Perth sharpshooter Jye Amiss, while the Dockers also picked up midfielders Neil Erasmus and Matt Johnson, forward-ruck Roy Benning and Karl Worner in the national and rookie drafts.

The club also attained the services of speedster Jordan Clark (from Geelong) to add pace off half-back and on the wing, while Will Brodie (Gold Coast) will help cover the loss of Cerra in the engine room.
Meanwhile, the return of injured promising young guns Heath Chapman and Sam Sturt, along with luckless defender Joel Hamling, will be a major boost for the Dockers in 2022.

"Fremantle star Caleb Serong etc, etc"......it seems some one at the Worst has elevated Caleb to star status at last, not before time either.

Which Peel Thunder player is this... Roy George? Apparently there were 6 Thunder players in our scratchie today. I wonder if any of the train on players took part. Did Zac Strom or Blake Scheslong get out there?
JL said on radio today that there are paperwork holdups with any train ons, so we don't have any as of yet

God I love this passage from the write up pin the club website.

Taberner has the hard work of Sturt to thank for his first two majors with a smart handball over the top from Sturt resulting in the Taberner’s first. However, it was the second link-up of the pair that was most impressive, with a dashing run from Sturt through the middle of the ground before a perfectly weighted kick in the path of Taberner, which saw the big man easily soccer through Purple’s third goal for the second half.

Hang on...does that mean the ball bounced off Tabs' chest? Or Sturt missed his target (Tabs)? Or Sturt went for goal and didn't make the distance?

I'm usually a glass half full sort of guy, so not sure why this got to me.

hmmm

well, I achieved something like that once ( to be fair i had dropped to 62 kg so its easier to put on weight).

the secret is eating.

and eating.

and eating

i got up to 75kg really quickly.

Sturt and Chappy are the chosen ones, they are ones who our future depends on. All hail ChapSturt!!!
My irrational Sturt hype is only growing at this point I think

I’m also anointing Serong as the ultimate chosen one as well, he’s set for a massive year and will follow in the footsteps of our greatest two

and yes the lid is off, I can’t wait to get disappointed

Probably built similar to me muscle wise. I joined the army at 18 weighing 55kg wringing wet and in the 6 weeks of basic I had put on 10kg of muscle.

I’ve never eaten so much in my life. Plates stacked so high but I’d be starving again an hour later. It was insane.

Heath Chapman looks exceptional at everything... Even the way he moves seems to be exceptional. We haven't got much to go on due to his injury but I think his combination of agility, marking, foot skills and contested work are rare. I need to see more of him in games to guess at his ceiling but early indicators are, boy oh boy!

Chapman = Johnno MK 2.

Chapman = Johnno MK 2.

I think that is now the least that I am expecting... which is ridiculous as Johnson was a very, very good player. I wouldn't be disappointed if he ended up as good as Johnson, I just think his ceiling is higher.

This possibly points to me having been bitten by the preseason optimism bug.

Its time he came and reminded us all that Jackson is nowhere near the top end of talent in his draft year. 🙀
As much as I’d love to have Jackson I’m glad Melbourne took him otherwise they would have almost certainly have taken Hayden Young or even Serong at their pick.

I can’t believe I watched about 20 mins of match sim thinking that Banfield was Chapman 😂
Especially because I’d already noticed Chapman (in number 27) minding Sam Sturt and thinking how similar in height and build they are.

You are hiding the 'glass half full guy' pretty well here. Seems to me it was a well-weighted kick in front of Tabs ..
