Thats interesting, I assumed Fox would show them if Kayo has em, sucks for people till paying for fox in this day and age.

Probably because Fox is still the old channel system? likely not enough channels to show all these games played at the same time and if they pick and choose they would be ripped apart.
They will be on Foxtel

Nothing wrong with playing Hb. In fact it's a vital role in today's game so teams need talent there. Chapman is talent.

Btw, it's hilarious but so typical of Bigfooty that an innocent and light hearted comment can provoke so much serious reaction. The whoosh sound as it went over so many years was deafening! 🤣

It’s not on the official fox guide and it’s reported everywhere as exclusive to kayo
Ahh I see what they're doing now.

I think you are right about the first round which is later this month, exclusive to Kayo only. Can confirm that the 2nd round of pre-season is on Foxtel tho thankfully.

The innocent and lighthearted comment that two years ago there was "wrist slitting"?

So I don't remember there being much issue on here, but on twitter there was a particularly harsh post from a well known Freo twitter user that went viral amongst the Freo twitter community. Said poster has since apologized for it.

Fwiw I do remember on the Duff and Quarters podcast prior to the draft that they were talking about most clubs had Chapman projecting as a midfielder eventually.

Said it here a few weeks back - I’d be surprised if Treacy ever plays a game for Peel again. As an 18 year old he was miles too good for the level last year and stuck out like a sore thumb. It was like watching an adult play with Aus kickers at times.

I’m 100% certain he would never have played a league match for peel last year and would have played from round 1 in the AFL only for the stupid suspension.
I think people automatically think that because he was a rookie he’s got more to prove or something, or that deep down he’s still inferior somehow to these first and second round picks.
It’s nonsense. You have to forget where he was drafted from its now totally irrelevant!!! He would be taken in the top 20 without doubt if there was a redraft tomorrow in any case.
It’s the old adage where if you are a high pick you get gifted games much easier than a rookie, due to this idea that “talent” that caused the player to be a high pick will eventually surface, and you got to keep pumping the games into them 🤔
Treacy is on that part of his improvement curve that is very steep and it’s exciting for us freo fans, he should be much better than last year and could easily kick 30 goals plus.
I think he could finish top 12 in the B&F this year if he stays injury free.
I like it.
Also remember that Treacy had not played football for 12 months before coming to us.
A super selection.
He will be jet.

Most of the draft talk here on the day was about making sure we got Walker and Western nice and cheap. There was some hype around Nik Cox, but he was well and truly gone by our pick. Some wanted us to trade up to get McDonald but we realistically didn't have the currency. Tanner Bruhn had some love from us, but GWS nabbed him at pick 12.

The choice seemed to be between Chapman, Brayden Cook and Oliver Henry by our pick. Most reacted positively to what we did.

I think in hindsight we made the right choice.

Tbh I was a fan of the pick from the get go. Even if it didn't fill a team structure need at the time. He clearly had a elite skills and a great attitude.

Fremantle training notes: Hayden Young, Rory Lobb, Caleb Serong, Matt Taberner impress in intra-club clash

Fremantle friends turned foes briefly on Friday morning as the Dockers tuned up for the season with some match simulation.
Roughly half a dozen Peel Thunder products were relied upon to make up the numbers, but it was the Dockers’ stars who predictably dominated the action.

Young gun

With his flowing blonde locks, it’s easy to mistake Hayden Young for a surfer, but the dashing defender performed more like a Rolls Royce at Victor George Kailis Oval today.
Young was the pick of a strong back six for the purple team which also included Alex Pearce, Luke Ryan, Griffin Logue and Nathan Wilson.
With his elegant dash off half-back, poise with the ball in hand and precision kicking, Young was at the heart of everything good during the opening quarter of Fremantle’s intra-club game.

Midway through the term, Young took a commanding mark in the middle of the ground to win possession back for his team, and the chain that followed resulted in a goal to Michael Frederick.
For the white team, Brennan Cox showed no signs of sluggishness after his delayed start to pre-season, moving freely and taking two strong marks.

Tall timber trio impress

With Rory Lobb and Josh Treacy lining up for the white team, and Matt Taberner the spearhead for the purples, Dockers staff would be happy with how the three beanpoles went about their business.
Lobb looked in particularly good shape, prowling the forward line and taking a couple of strong marks.

Taberner made his presence felt in every marking contest he charged into and kicked the first goal of the game after some nice work from Sam Sturt in an open forward 50.
Meanwhile, Treacy pulled in a couple of nice marks and pressed his opponents strongly, even catching Young holding the ball.

After a scrappy start, possession flowed more freely as the two sides grew into the game, and there were plenty of things to like.
Having been elevated to the leadership group yesterday, Caleb Serong was noticeably vocal, encouraging his teammates at every opportunity, while also showing all the guile and class with the ball in hand one would expect from the 2020 Rising Star.

Liam Henry showed some nice touches in transition, while Nathan O’Driscoll was given an extended run in the middle and was quietly productive.
Hamish Brayshaw accumulated the football well early, while David Mundy was his usual ageless self – good signs for a Fremantle side missing two of their best users of the ball in Nat Fyfe and Michael Walters, who watched on from the sidelines.

As the fellas at the Restump (shout out to those two legends for all their hard work) so eloquently put it recently, these match sims are a bit like dancing with your sister.

Despite that, it looks like we're getting a really good spread of goalkickers in this session so hopefully the mid-forward linkage is building. I'm especially excited by blokes like Serong, Brayshaw and Henry dobbing them from the midfield.
