Izak Rankine for one :(

He just plays PS5 all day. He doesn't care where he does it from and if he can get circa $900k from a club in his home state then he's happy for that. I can see this backfiring for Adelaide massively. As a club with ridiculous amounts of talent we just get to watch the implosion from the sidelines with little care.

Got me F#cked how cats can afford Grundy and hopper.

Yet we are at the cap 🥴

Mismanagement to the MAX
Or brown paper bags, Carlton are also chasing people again with their bottomless wads of money. I’m sure the VFL turns a blind eye as it’s important to them that the big clubs are successful year on year to generate the television revenue

I don’t doubt teams pay players under the table.

But when trading in contracted players, those contracts are already lodged with the AFL, so to are the contracts of all their players on their list.

So if Geelong can fit both Grundy and Hopper, on their existing contracts under their cap, good for them.

The contracts might say X amount to make the overall salary cap work but if your mum is working as a receptionist at the club for $400,000 a year and dad empties the bin for another $400,000 and your sister…. well you get what I’m getting at

I know as he lives just near me. He pretty much keeps to himself and when he is out in the community there's very few people that recognise him. That's about to change hugely for him. I get he's heading "home" on what's reported as massive money and I can also see it ending badly. Will be sad to see the implosion but it is what it is

You reap what you sow. He's a grown man now.

I get it, and even referenced it to begin with.

You're not the only team up here still overpaying players to keep them. And this impacts both teams cap, and ability to sign players (if they want to move up here)

If we can walk away this trade period with 3 first rounders and all 2nds and 3rds moved to future picks I will consider it a successful trade period.

Busslinger, Hollands and either Clark or Tsatas and I’m a happy man
Where are you getting that 3rd first rounder from?

It's obvious our first is up for grabs, but it comes with a 500 points upgrade premium.

Does it? Didn't realise you were the list manager!
No. he's not the List Manager and either are you and his opinion is different to yours and mine....doesn't mean he's right, doesn't mean you're wrong.....it's an opinion.

If you disagree with it, then debate it.........and debate it with facts......please stop with the (can't quite find the right word here)......how's this "I know everything and you don't"..........that's probably a bit harsh, but it's how it's coming over to me....
Think I need to go find something else to do..

I don’t think there’s a minimum value that needs to be met.

You guys obviously just take the best offer presented to you.

You might get 300 points. You might get more. Depends what everyone has to offer.

Our goals would be to
1. Draft high end talent.
2. Push points to next year.

I think with the 5 second and 3rd round picks we have we could make it happen.

I know you have the picks to make it happen.

But the OP I replied to said he hoped GC would have 3 first round picks AND push all your current second and third round picks in to next year.

Unless GC is trading a second player this offseason for a third, first round pick, the obvious play is to trade your second round picks to Brisbane for our first round pick.

Let’s just say ‘all remaining 2nd and 3rd round picks’ get moved to next year.

The way Cameron values draft picks, we will package our entire hand of 2nd/3rds for Brisbanes first after they win the GF and wind up with #18.

I still hold out hope we can use this haul of picks to actually get better for next year, but I realistically just can’t see it happening. Means we will get some good kids in (hopefully some that fill actual needs), but how many more kids can we carry in the 22?

Still a bit to play out but the offloading of guys like fiorini, macpherson, corbett, Flanders, markov, bowes may net us a whole heap of 2nd,3rd,4th rounders for next year. Obviously won't be all of them but can see 2 or 3 going elsewhere
