Just an update - really nothing new, just clarification.

TT - still not settled things with Norf - may stay, but had a bust up with Clarkson over 'lifestyle issues' SO I'M TOLD - another phone call between his 'people' and GCS was reportedly made early last week. Wether they are stringing us along - who knows, but TT is not a 'staying at Norf' done deal.

Fiorini and Flanders has got messy.

It was Bruhn - GWS to Hawks
Mitchell - Hawks to Pies
Flanders GCS to Hawks

Bruhn has now nominated Cats.

Hawks very keen now on Flanders - started with current 3rd rounder (around the 50 mark) - all gone quiet from my source - so talks must still be ongoing.
Fiorini more likely to go than stay, depends on T Mitchell trade as to destination club.

I have nothing else, and probably that's it from me, as my sources only involve Hawks + Norf.

Pick 50 for Flanders..?

And we’re happy to take Will day off them for a pick 34

Just on Jez McLennan
I wonder how many players taken before pick 25 in the National Draft never played a senior game of AFL footy?
Surely some, Lions Ely Smith, pick 21 (still waiting to debut after 4 years, out of contract) pops in my mind, could be de-listed too.

Also if all that Hawthorn are sending over is pick 50, may as well hold on, hope he has a break out year next year, risk losing him for nothing as opposed to pick 50.
He won't be a RFA next year so we won't lose him for nothing.

Unless he's desperate to leave it makes no sense to trade him. We definitely have room for another midfielder - whether it's him, Davies, Holland's, but we need to reduce the reliance on Noah, Rowell and Touk.

He will surely get a chance, then it's up to him to take it. No reason to let him leave for unders.

Not sold on Ben Long.
Undisciplined ,low possession winner.
Count good games on one hand.
We are good at over paying HBF.
Gee I hope Im wrong but more pessimistic than optimistic.

Pick 50!!!! Are we trying single handedly to rebuild the Hawks, Scrimshaw ( pick 6 two years earlier) for a 4th roinder that I don’t think we used and now Flanders. Hopefully this is incorrect as it reeks of incompetence. We will never win anything doing outright dump deals like this , Brodie, 2MP and the aforementioned Scrimshaw are all dump as **** deals that were of the clubs own making, change the narrative or the staff

If what has been posted in this thread is true it's a salary dump and there is a lot of those desperate deals that need to be undone to keep the real talent
Hopefully getting to the end of them

Funny thing is if I remember correctly that Swans were very keen on McLennan and would pick him up if he was available.

I reckon Long will thrive up on the Coast. Very promising that a 25 year old player about to hit the prime in their career selected us. Don’t know how many times that has happened before. Also believe he will give us that much needed mongrel and grunt to take us to the next level. Outside of Holman there’s no one else in the squad who plays their footy in that style so hopefully we will see an attitude shift upon Long’s arrival. Would love to see more mongrel, arrogance and swagger in our side.

I get it's exciting to have a player choose the Sun's, but Ben Long is an absolute 💩🚚.

Usually one of the worst on ground due to regular brain fades.

I know it’s only one game but watch Long’s last one v Sydney and remember he’s just entering his prime at 35 years of age and 80 odd games. He definitely ain’t :poo: Lots of Saints fans annoyed he wants out.
Entering his prime at 35?!

Welcome to the Suns, Ben 'Tom Brady' Long.
