Jez, Conroy, Murtagh and Nichols were all likely candidates, unfortunately.

Club must have some indication of list sizes if that is all we are cutting.

Well if we are going to go back to normal list size then we are at 45 players now. That’s the normal list size of the other teams.

38 listed players currently, 6 Cat A rookies and 1 Cat B rookie.

So at a minimum there is at least 3 listed players to be moved on… Rankine we know about. I would expect Markov, Corbett, Burgess, Constable could be traded or delisted to allow our 3 National draft picks.

The more I think about it I reckon we might only take 2 picks and upgrade Moyle from the rookie list.

Really depends on who we want to trade out. Let’s say Fiorini does go (as per the murmurs) then that’s another spot potentially.

I would personally keep Burgess, Constable and even Markov if they are happy to play on. All have AFL experience and are older bodies.

But it also depends on who we might trade in. 1-2 players suddenly means more trades or delistings are needed. We’ll just have to wait a week for AFL to decide what we get list wise.

6 cat A, 2 Cat B it is for other clubs.

If you might permit me to correct you.

Normal list size is 42 split across main list + Cat A rookie. 36-38 main, + 4-6 Cat A rookie. (i.e. 36 + 6, 37 + 5 or 38 + 4) Separate to that, up to 2 Cat B rookie. So, at those figures, you'd be 2 oversize to start with.

I hope West Coast stay down the bottom for quite a while.

Rioli leaving will hurt them on field.
He is a decent player. Probably in their top 10.

That’s okay I guess I could be wrong…

Just so your aware GWS had 44 players on there list this season. 37 main, 6 Cat A and 1 Cat B. I mean I ain’t a mathematician but I’m sure that’s more than 42 players.

So GWS must have some form of list concessions similar to us to have 2 extra list spots

I believe we’ll need to trade out a couple of others for list space, add trade capital and cap space. Fiorini, Flanders and Corbett would be worth trading out. Let them play some more in the 1’s, relieve around $1.3M of cap space. Might get 2 x 2nd rounders back for them.

I think I know the site where you got that from, but it's actually incorrect.

GWS currently has 36 + 7 + 2, but started the year with 36 + 6 + 2. The extra Cat A rookie was Wade Derksen, picked up in the MSD. The 2 Cat B rookies are not inside the 42 list size.

Anyway, I'll leave it there. Never wanted to raise any hackles, just saw some incorrect info I thought I could quickly fix.

There’s no reason to trade either Sharp or Flanders unless they absolutely demand out. Both 21, contracted, not on too much money, and Sharp showed he can play at AFL level in year 2 before this year happened, while Flanders has had a very strong VFL finals series.

It’s not like we are desperate to clear list spots and we have Rankines 650k sitting there, and it’s not like we are bringing in anyone of note to cut into that.

Supersuns punching air rn about Ben Long

I actually don't hate him but I'm alone on this I think. Big kick, hard as a cats head and plenty development left. If he played every game like his last one he'd be a jet.
