The trade got more astounding when the AFL gave the permission to spread the contract out over multiple years and despite this the suns still offered up pick 7 for some reason. Why? They simply gave the cats their word or something, I dunno.

Clubs still would have gone for it even if it were Bowes and one or two second rounders instead.

Basically they gave up a top 10 pick when they didn't have to in the end. Could have brought in Busslinger and Humphrey, who are pretty much ready made, it's very disappointing and even trumps previous crazy deals.
If the AFL did indeed allow the 2 years to be spread over 4 years - why didn't we just offer the same arrangement to Jack and retain him on a much more realistic amount per season? We also would have kept #7 or was it only approved for Geelong?

I'm with Goth on Matt crouch. A very good player at releasing the outside runner. Problem is at the Crows laird, keays, berry, Sloane aren't any good on the outside. Flanders gets 35 touches in the vfl and we bang on that he's going to be the next touk miller. Crouch went back to sanfl and was getting 40+ and actually hits targets. Understand why a rebuilding side needs to move onto younger talent but in a team that is ready to compete I think he would be a great addition.

A bit unfounded panic about our midfield depth, IMO.

Latest is that Collingwood will not pursue Fiorini. So, we basically lost just Bowes, who was depth and could not get a game in the middle. Besides Anderson, Rowell, Miller, Swallow we will play Davies there. Dew mentioned Flanders and Ainsworth to get more time there. Then there is Hollands. We will still have Fiorini, probably Constable and possibly Blakey and Jed Anderson. Even Mcpherson can play there in case of emergency.

Not sure why we would even entertain Crouch who would cost way too much (even half salary) compared to e.g., Constable (who I would probably value similarly).

Step back, take a breath. It is never that bad and never that good.

Rant On.

The Cats should have won at least 1 more flag in the last 11 years, more likely 2. Wasted opportunities.
The Crows had The Camp.
The Hawks? They won flags but burnt a lot of bridges on the way and who knows what comes out next.
The Kangas are falling apart.
The Pies had to crowbar out both Treloar and Grundy and will be paying them for a few years yet.
The Bulldogs just had their B&F winner leave b/c of a lack of professionalism! Talk about underacheivement with that list.
The Saints have 1 flag in 125 years.
The Eagles had some of the worst performances of their history this year, a rabble.
The Giants have a worse cap problem than we do and are just about to re-enter the draft, develop then leave cycle so beloved by us.
The Blues lost the unloseable finals spot and are now signing players to 7 year deals.
The Lions had a flag on a platter with home finals and a home GF and bumbled it away. Will they even get another chance?
Then there is the Bombers....

We are not that bad, and yes, not that good. Like a lot of other clubs.
What do people expect?

Make it easy it for yourself, be a bandwagoner. Just follow the best club at the time.

Who gives a rats tossbag what other clubs club supporters and numbnuts like Kane Cornes and Damo say about us? Win some games, they will be still be full of it. Because if you start out full of it like Cornes and his ilk, chances are you will still be full of it at the end.

End Rant.

He isn't good enough, he isn't a contested ball machine, he a sideways accumulator type player the game has gone past. Our game plan is about pressure and driving the ball forward at any cost, watching Crouch handball to someone under pressure or move at the treacle slow speed he does for us would make me sick. He is not what we need at all.
You're starting to turn into 17er with this ridiculous arrogance you have.
I have my suspicions tbh...

Dew would never play Crouch, he doesn't fit into his gameplan.

He's just the same as Brodie, Fiorini, Constable - big accumulators who can't run.

On that note, does anyone know how Rowelly stacks up with the team in endurance testing at training?

[Edit: I see he was equal 10th in the 2K time trial at his draft combine, and runs about 14.5K's a game in the AFL, which appears to be a pretty decent amount; so a pretty good endurance athlete it seems.]

I just think back to the Adelaide game where our midfield smashes them and we won by 50 points.

Laird, crouch, keays and Hately had more than 120 possessions combined, mostly uncontested. Only just cracked 1000m gained combined.

That kind of junk doesn’t win you football games.

Noah and Touk topped 1250m gained together from 50 combined possessions.

21 score involvements from the 4 crows players

16 from our two suns.

Hear me out.

The dogs don’t cave to Brisbane’s current offer.

They keep their word and send Josh Dunkley to the preseason draft.

Dunkley is still keen to go to QLD.

We snag him in the preseason draft at pick 7!

Bang 4D chess
