Walters will be bid no later than 2.

And if we trade up to 2 WC could still bid to wipe us out anyway.
Nick Daicos was rated the #1 pick in his year and went much later. Bids are nearly always a bit later than what the player is ranked.

Although #2 is the spot we should be aiming for if our strategy is to get another player in before the bid.

So many different strategies we could be looking at this year.

While I have a taste for it, I am putting a knife through the list of the ones I would look to retain and the ones I would trade/delist.

Would add that hollands is tradeable and Budarick a keeper. There's a few on the retain list I would trade but don't think any offers are coming in.

i reckon Dmac can get delisted too, what a waste of a good half of a year for him. Went back to default setting.

Do we need to get Reid at #1 or do we just need to get a good young player before the Walter bid comes?
Why wouldn't you do it at this stage though? We're not going to use pick 4 this year and we know it holds a lot of value to other clubs so why not try to turn that asset into something we can use? The same can be said about next year's first rounder that will likely get eaten up by first round bids on Lombard and Nancarrow. We may as well use these first round picks to secure something significant like pick 1 and back Dimma to convince a player like Reid to stay long-term. If there's a genuine A grader out there that wants to join us and we're required to give up pick 4 for him then I'm also in favour of that.

Does Walter, Read & Rogers have any leadership qualities ? Something like Will Ashcroft is what we need, Noah Anderson is our only leader below Touk its pretty grim, we need some more help.

The price for pick 1 is astronomically higher than pick 2. That's why that's more realistic trade up and still gets us a gun young player before Walter.

66 players in 6 years. 20 successful picks

Our inability to attract anyone good made us suffer for way too long with bunch of spud academy picks, rogue international/list b hail maries combined with a tight cap and absolutely 0 hits from mid season draft. Basically only nailing our first rounders. Dew had one of the toughest jobs out there and theres no surprise he had one of the worst winning percentages out there with this rubbish we developed/attracted.

100 percent I'd be doing similar to Cal suggested.

To west coast:
Pick 4 (Curtin) + Sharp + future first

Gold coast:
Pick 1 + second or third rounder for points.

Reid plus the 3 academy boys would be the greatest draft haul ever (outside of expansion drafts).

If i were eagles i'd just keep 1 for Reid if that was the deal.

Depends if they back themselves for one star player to stay.

As a rebuilding club, I’d rather split picks and have multiple bites, especially if it can land them one of the best local talents.

There will likely be other deals for WCE to look at that might offer greater incentives, or given them multiple picks this year to rebuild more quickly.

I doubt it’s something we would do, tbh.

Alot of factors, i can't see us winning in many Pick 4 trades. Everyone wants it, i'd rather get a player than points in 2023 or 2024.
