Alot of factors, i can't see us winning in many Pick 4 trades. Everyone wants it, i'd rather get a player than points in 2023 or 2024.
I would prefer a player too. I trust (maybe naively?) the club is doing everything it can to get a named player, as always. We have cap space. We have a pick we can’t use. Time to see if Hardwick can have some pull and help turn our fortunes.

If this actually turns into an off-season where our team gets better immediately due to one or two astute trades (see Brisbane as a blueprint), then our jump gets much easier! If not, then it’s just pedalling in future hope as per normal.

pretty impressive really.
Trade out 2 of your best players and move up halfway up the ladder

Well they play the "Richmond" style.

Was interesting last night the commentators talking about the high half forwards being crucial to that style. Daniel and Bedford being the one's they mentioned for GWS.

Who have the Suns got that can play that role? Need pace, high endurance and work rate. Ainsworth is one? Maybe need to trade for another? O'ea is a good runner, maybe Dimma can improve him?

100 percent I'd be doing similar to Cal suggested.

To west coast:
Pick 4 (Curtin) + Sharp + future first

Gold coast:
Pick 1 + second or third rounder for points.

Reid plus the 3 academy boys would be the greatest draft haul ever (outside of expansion drafts).
The only way West Coast trade down is if they can guarantee Curtin will fall.

There is no guarantee that if we trade up to 1 and take Harley Reid that North won't take Curtin at 2 to replace Ben McKay.

Ainsworth might make it under Dimma but also could get pushed aside if better comes along. He's on the cusp I reckon plus O'ea will never make the grade. On a more positive note after a few days to get the temperature down I realise the following - we were missing King, Lukosious, Humphrey, Weller, Powell and Holman from last week's team. That means Sexton, Burgess, Lemmens, McPherson, Fiorini and one from Chol, Buderick, Ellis, Atkins would be missing. Doesn't excuse an abysmal performance but I reckon we would have won easy with those guys in the team.

Well done on getting Dimma, he’ll steer the ship in the right direction and your team on paper will be scary in a few years. Just wanted to know what you guys thought of this trade:

West Coast give:
19, 35, 38, 54, 57, 2024 R1, no academy bids for 2 years

Gold Coast give:
pick 4, GC 2024 R1

Could be a monumental win both ways, especially if we finish last next year.

I appreciate you visiting our little board, as for your offer we don’t need a heap of picks we can’t use, you would have to turn those 5 picks into 2 solid ones.

Even then it’s not very tempting, we are giving up a known value pick in 4, the dogs can do a better deal than this with 2x 1sts this year.

I lived in GC for a few years, love the place and whilst the eagles aren’t contending I certainly hope your boys can win some finals. Great young list. Surely the most likely scenario is it’s pick 1 next year given where our list is at? Have you got all the points you need this year? Just don’t give it to the smug flog Garry Lyon. We obviously wouldn’t trade this year’s #1 in this scenario (we’d want Reid and one of Duursma/McKercher/Curtain) so outside of that is there an offer with our draft haul this year and next that would tempt you?

Pick 4 for F1 and 19 (19 helps with the points we lose trading g 4) I am sure you would balk and probably should but the Suns are the ones taking all the risk so there has to be a premium. Plus you need to remember we are a little burned from the last time we gave you guys 4 second rounders for what turned out to be pick 18.

We did burn you, but I don’t think anyone in Oct/Nov 2017 would have thought we’d win the flag in 2018 and at the time I think it represented risk for both clubs. This year we would be taking on the risk of giving up pick 1 2024 which Adelaide would pay a motza for as well as VIC clubs wanting high end mids. For what it’s worth bar Bailey Williams we picked absolute muppets (one delisted and 2 hopefully delisted this year) and sent 25 to Sydney which they used on James Rowbottom in 2018. Didn’t work out for us either.

F1, 35 and 38 (35 and 38 worth more points than 19 alone) for 4 (which will become 5 or 6) you think is a reasonable trade for both clubs then?

We need to consolidate picks rather than have 12 picks going into the draft. That pick selection of yours works but only on draft night

We won't get first round offers for Hollands, has been a pretty large disappointment, best we could hope for would probably be an early 2nd.
Unless we package Hollands to a club like Hawthorn/North for Hollands + our 1st for their 1st. Or combine one some of our surplus 2nd round picks with him for a first.

But yeah, seems unlikely clubs would bite at that, so an early 2nd is the best we could hope for… absolute best.

Worst part is he will go to another club and explode into an elite player
Not too upset about this. He's floundering right now and we can't have him sitting in ressies forever when we have a dearth of mid talent coming through. Would prob like him to stay another year to see but I'm indifferent. He doesn't seem to have the drive imo.
