So for the calculators out there..

If 11 gets split to
14
Plus a future first pick 19

Does 14 and of the rest of our haul of picks get somewhere close to the 4500odd points we need to get the 4 Academy kids
No. Guessing on the bids obviously. If we trade with North hopefully they don't bid only need 4335.

Would be the end of first round compensation pick
Not sure I like this potential deal, do we really need an end of first round pick next year? If we have our pick and the dogs what purpose does it serve, we don’t know where Leo is going to end up in next years draft, he’s looking promising but no guarantee he is a top 10 pick. Surely points this year would be a better outcome

E.g 10 for 14 and 20

Once the draft starts and the bids start coming, we can also trade a future pick for picks this year can't we?

If so, plenty of options to bring in points this year. Once draft starts can do the PooPoo Platter trade of 1 good future pick for 4 or 5 late round rubbish picks that no-one really wants but add up to more draft points.

The way we are accumulating picks for next year, you would think we have a couple of ready made players lined up to have a crack at, if we take that NM deal and Chol/Hollands both go for future 2nds we would have 3 first rounders and 3 second round picks for next year.
Said the same the past 3 years.

I doubt they'll all go in the first round. Jake may drop down as Will rises. All good though.

Rogers is twice the footballer that Graham is imo, Graham just has the athletic upside and size that is appealing, but on sheer footballing ability Rogers should go top 15, Graham more third or fourth round.

As confident as Tommy Hawkins lining up in the hoops next year
Uwland and Buderick I both like. Buderick transitioned back into the side seamlessly after a long stint out, such a classy player. I agree that Uwland has plenty of upside and I think he could be the type of player Hardwick likes, but anybody unsigned this time of year is a concern..

Yeah agreed, feels like groundhog day, the only difference I can think is that we only have 1 academy player currently that looks likely to be taken, so the stock pilling of futures must have a different thought in mind.
You need to think outside the box , you can trade next year pick for future 2025 pick but you cannot trade this year pick for 2025 pick . Don't need to waste it away or sell it cheaply just because you don't need that pick this year or next year .
