I like the sound of it revolving around Adelaide's first round pick.

I'd be much happier with:
1) Rankine NOT leaving
2) If he must - Sam Berry and future 2nd rounder - at least.

We have enough picks this year. Lets get a bloke in who is up to AFL standard and then some, with 35+ games and 10 yrs ahead of him + a decent pick next year. maybe a swap of 3rd rounders in our favour as the cherry. I'm not sure Rachelle is what we need when we can go to the draft.

Really hope this is all media / manager clickbait - be a huge loss this.

He’s only just starting to reach the potential everyone envisioned of him in his draft year.

Let's temper some expectations. No decent young player is going to GC in return. That's not how targeting an out of contract player works.

Exactly, I'd rather us lose Rankine than the possibility of us losing Rowell or Anderson. I can guarantee Victorian clubs are going to be offering ridiculous money to Noah and if we overpay for Rankine than we are in the same position as GWS.

And while, he is no Rankine. Not pick 3 or maybe can't do the things Rankine can do; but there is this forward that might be even more special in his own ways. Exciting and wont see him leave anytime soon.

Can only agree with you. I was always saying that Rosas has Rankine traits. And he decided to stay while Essendon wanted him when he did not play regularly.

And then there is Jeffrey, super talented too. Our forward line will be more than fine.

Yeah, I reckon the small forward line thats probably the easiest to replace. No matter how much talent he may have. The days of overpaying players on $$ potential should be over. Its not a situation clubs should be getting themselves into. Trust me I know, pies have done it. GWS are now in that situation where they are 1M over the cap.

Players come and go. That's the nature of the industry. Only 1 thing remains. The club. Its a business so if you arent willing to stay for the right reasons. There is the door.
