If I'm understanding correctly this either prevents them signing a TV deal with a new conference or means they have to share the money from the new conference TV rights with the ACC until 2036.
They could, but the ACC would be able to sue that conference. no one will give them a formal offer until they are out.

and cant see the SEC even doing much of a preliminary talk with them since they would need ESPN to agree to a payment. and ESPN are happy paying FSU and the ACC under market value.
There are people suggesting FSU go independent for a year or 2 and use that to get the best deal and a bidding war since FSU are the only big name school not in the SEC or Big10.

Clearly not this one

Its a Eastern Michigan thing. I dont know if they still do, but used to do that every home game.

the first year they did it the broadcasters joked that they would be exhausted by the time the game starts doing it.

I know there's a shit-ton of money available to schools competing in Bowl games, but I was watching Minnesota before thinking that surely pride has to come into it at some point. I think I'd be embarrassed to be playing in a Bowl game that my school wasn't even eligible for.

Nice walk down memory lane for the past 10 years of the CFP era with some of the wildest or meaningful games (not just the playoffs).

Seems more like a boycott over the decision not to give them the playoff status.
Bit of both. Other schools have players who are entering the transfer portal play. but also NFL prospects are not playing. Its looked like Marvin Harrison wont play for Ohio St [but thats been expected the last few weeks, even Vegas moved Missouri to favorite after a few days]

Bowers and a couple of others not playing for Georgia.

Does that mean Harrison and Williams have decided to declare? Neither have publically as far as I’m aware but opting out is surely a sign

Don’t know why the head coach would want to win this game.
Imagine being dumped with a bucket load of mayo. 🤮🤮🤮

FSU now up over 20 players injured/optout/transfer that wont play in the Orange Bowl

I'm tossing up whether to bother watching or just watch the highlights. On one hand it is another chance to watch Georgia and some of the seniors but on the other hand it should be a demolition like TCU in the natty and that was boring after a while.

I would say the money they get would help.

Now here's a bowl game trophy I can get around

Thinking of this while watching the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, absolutely terrified by what could be to come

Piss weak really. If they wanted to make a statement, and back up their belief that they deserved a spot in the playoffs. Then prove it by going out and beating Georgia. Instead they are a bunch of quitters.
