I don't care how well they play, I just want the following based on their names:
  • Jordan Croft - a no brainer having a famous Bulldog name
  • Caleb Windsor - we're starting a Caleb collection so he'll do. Disappointed no Baileys this year. Out of fashion already?
  • Hugo Garcia - might as well start collecting Garcias too
  • Phoenix Gothard - I'm excited. No more needs to be said
  • Conor O'Sullivan and Lachie Sullivan - definitely worth starting a collection of them.
  • Diesel Moloney - should have a decent tank and run all day
  • Angus Hastie - sounds like he'll add a bit of speed to the list
  • Clay Hall - two sentimental favourite names there - can't go past him
There are a few other favourite names going around - Murphy, Harvey, Morris, Darcy ... but hey, you can't draft them all can you?

Diesel Moloney is the most western suburbs name I've ever heard.

Which other clubs are in a better position than us to trade up for Gold Coasts pick?
If we end up winning a final which is quite possible, or really should be expected as a minimum tbh - we might only end up with say picks 14 & 16 or similar (with potential McKay/PP)

not sure that’d even be enough if GC end up with 5

It sounds like there are fair few who can offer a better deal than us.

So Luals even got an inside game, damn he must be rising up the ranks.

Can other clubs just let us get a freebie from Academy pls, sick of having to pay market value 😂

Croft & Lual look perfect for us, hopefully we can at least get in our first pick and both of them, would be such a shame if we ended up using both first rounders on those two (even if they’re worth it)

It was his first inside game at the level. I'm not sure if he has played inside previously. For a first crack he shown a hell of alot of ability.

Hey can anyone clarify with Lual.

So because he’ll be picked in the top 40 we can’t take him? Or we can but we have to pay full points price for the pick?

I wouldn't be upset if our pre-draft strategy was to trade up our 2 first rounders into the 8-12 range (to beat a Croft bid) and take Lual with the 12ish pick.

A top 10er, Lual and Croft would be nice.

Unfortunately you can’t trade away your two picks for one higher pick then still use one of the picks you have just traded away.
I think we would all love a first rounder, Croft and Lual but we are going to need more draft assets to do it.

I think we’re just as likely to be a trade down as a trade up team. Argument could be made for trading down 16 for multiple picks in the mid 20s, or trading 13 to say Melbourne for 23 and a future first. Or both. There’ll be many iterations possible once picks start moving hands.

It’s not as sexy as trading into the top 10, but we might be able to take Croft and have enough capital left for a trade or two and multiple second round draftees, while preserving some value for next year.

There’s a lot of good that can be done that doesn’t involve cashing our chips in for a top 10 pick this year.

We could potentially trade both first round picks for 4 second round picks. Then a bid for Croft will take the first of those and then we have 3 left to take Lual and then 2 other later second round picks. It isn’t a super bad outcome but not as ideal as moving up.

Yeah, there’s a few ways to go about it. That might appeal if we need to match a bid, trade one or two for players like Lohman or Hollands and draft 1-2 in that range.

I've got no problem trading down when circumstances are right.

Given a bid will probably come for Croft in the teens, trading down into this area or lower will only see our pick used up to match a bid. Would be a waste for mine given this year's particular scenario.
