It's never OK but our game lacks the professionalism to be considered a world-class game. It's great to watch at times but it's the corruption/incompetence of the umpires and the lack of accountability that ruins it. Have a group of ex-players who have recently retired review the rules, throw out the ones that are grey and simplify the rules to reflect the spirit of the game.
Virtually all neutral supporters agree that the umpiring cost Brisbane the game. It's been a farcical year with Crows missing etc. It all smacks of unprofessionalism and a game that still needs to evolve and reach the standards of top echelon sport.
