Pathetic if not comical performance from the Suns. Wouldn't even say effort was the issue (unlike their R1 loss to Carlton). Just too many dumb players, and a coach to match. Summed up best by the 50m penalty given away on the wing at an important stage by Brancatisano (who also messed up one of the better GC passages of the night), worth keeping in mind if Yorston comes knocking.

Congratulations to the Swans. Expansion team winning a final in their second season? That's rare air. They've actually achieved something.

Thrilled for our first AFLW Finals win. Midfield were great and our defence in the last quarter when Suns were coming hard was fantastic.
But overall our pressure on the ball was just so impressive tonight.

Fair play to the Swans. Made the most of almost every opportunity they had going forward and just suffocated the Suns players whenever it looked like they were about to go on a run. One team played finals footy tonight and the other didn't.

When I floated the 5k attendance figure for Adelaide, it was like an "anything under that is a major wtf" number. And yet it still looked good on TV, so the AFL should be happy with that.

Compare the lively surrounds of Norwood Oval to a sea of empty seats. Will I again be shaking my head tomorrow at the lack of effort to bring atmosphere to the broadcast? Probably. Fox did move the camera to the other side of GMHBA Stadium for R5 Geel v Melb, but moved it back for the games since then.

Sydney have been visibly improving, learning, growing in confidence and maturity all across this year. The team over the last month is well ahead of the team who snuck past GWS in round 1, love to see it.

Presumably get taught some new lessons by Adelaide next week, but what a great chance to get tested against the best ahead of an attack on next season.

Geelong are one of the better defensive teams, they don't give up three goal leads, especially against a team that is probably a level below them.

Geelong did lead by 14 before losing by 12 when these teams met a month ago. It's not much but it's something for Essendon to cling onto.

Oh and of course, a bit earlier in the season, the Cats also led by 18 midway through Q2 against NM before losing by 9. So they might have a bit of self doubt to deal with in closing this one out.
