The 2 players who are probably currently 1 and 2 in the reigning premier's b&f, Blicavs and Miers will or should get a guernsey in there somewhere come years end.
Why?
I'd argue Geelongs so good because they have players performing very well in roles across the park not just on the back of a few superstars.

If you had a team filled with the 7/8/9 best forwards, backs and mids it would be on of the great teams of all time but shouldn't have any AA players.

That's just my 2cents and I've never believed the top teams need to have high representation in the AA. I mean they could it depends but it should just be the best 22 positionally in the AFL.

Houston & Rozee are still starting 18 worthy.

Butters would only make it to the bench at this stage and is starting to slip, but still in my team.

I also still think Allir is worthy of the AA 40. He was hardly our worst KPD tonight with old man Jonas running around like a headless chook.
I appreciate your take.
Great to see some balance not getting caught in the hype.
I’d have butters on the bench or hf if he gets back to his fwd impact best.

Your first paragraph tells me you haven't watched a whole lot of Geelong this year. Blicavs was AA last year and is certainly no worse this year and probably better.

The aim of the game is to kick more goals than your opposition. Miers is comfortably the best facilitator in the league.

My comment wasn't directed at any play in particular more so said player A and B are leading out best and fairest so they have to be AA. I don't buy that line of thinking.

But you're correct I've only seen the cats a handful of times this year you can't watch every match. I absolutely have noticed Miers though, I've commented on him already saying he is playing his role very very well.

Just a pity the best KPD in the league won’t be in the AA this year - an asterisk coming for whoever does get the gig.
Yeah May did have a slow start to the year

Neale has 1 bad game and he gets dropped where Butters has 4 bad games in a row and still makes the team okay

For Carlton, Cerra has been far better than Docherty over the season and he would be in that group of 30-50 right now who are touch and go for the squad. Was good but not great on Saturday.

Don’t think Doc makes it without a big last 6 weeks and some recency bias working in his favour.

I love what Miers has done and no doubt he will be talked about but if last year is a guide, I think Blicavs would be in the squad from Geelong before him. If anything Blicavs has probably been better again this year and he was on the bench for the team last year.

Doesn’t mean he should be in the team or squad for that matter but I think he’s been slightly better (and yes it’s a hard comparison when they play polar opposite roles)

Make your own Brisbane biased team.

Butters can play fwd. If I'm picking a team based off this years body of work. Neale aint in it. Maybe should add another string to his bow. Tell me the pure mid he replaces? Bont? Dawson? Libba? Taranto? Merrett? No thanks.

Libba or Merrett Neale has been our best player this year and Lions are a top 3 team but it’s interesting you don’t rate Neale season he’s top 4 in the coaches votes which suggests he’s had a good year too
