Weitering v Andrews to me is decided on 6 simple metrics.

5.8 - Spoils - 9.5
1.8
- Contested Marks - 1.5
3.7 - Intercept Marks - 3.4
7.5 - Intercepts - 7.6
11.4%
- One on One DL% - 14.8
4.8 - Rebound 50's - 3.5

Imo the 6 criteria you need to judge a KPD on. The rest of the stats tend to just be stat padding trash - DE, Uncontested Marks, Metres gained... Couldn't care less about them as half of them get blown up in Luke Ryan esq kick to kick parties in the backline that lead to SFA.

No Nic Newman in the AA squad but they’ve got Crippa… wowsers

Hopefully the judges judge on actually watching games. Stats like this is classic BigFooty and provides nothing.

Jeremy Cameron was the best player in the league after the first 3-4 rounds and can’t make the AA squad.

But Daniher and Allen do….

Also Cerra can’t make the squad either…

Did not have Luke Jackson in my squad

Jeez, few headscratchers this year... More so than usual me thinks.

Not sure De Goey, Newcombe, Allen, Jackson or Quaynor have any real place in this squad looking at who missed out.

Shocked by Taranto's omission.

If you're going to give Jackson a nod, Gawn is stiff. Newman I feel is pretty stiff too, especially with Quaynor getting a look in. Sam Taylor hasn't played enough games, but I thought for sure they'd pick him.

Jackson has the most coaches votes of any ruck

Let's look at Martin's score involvements per touch compared to other forwards in the top 50 of SI:

Hawkins 66.4%
Walker 60.5%
Larkey 58.8%
C Cameron 58.5%
Curnow 57.7%
Naughton 53.9%
Ugle-Hagan 53.6%
Finlayson 50.5%
Langford 48.4%
J Cameron 47.9%
Greene 45.8%
Lukosius 44.8%
Papley 42.6%
Daniher 41.2%
Rankine 39.9%
Heeney 37.8%
Miers 37.7%
Schultz 34.8%
Martin 32.7%
Bolton 32.2%

Only 19th out of 20. Clearly deserving of AA.

I watch every game there is and I'd say those are the 6 most accurate reflectors on a KPD's impact on games. What do you disagree with about that?

Do you really give two shites if a KPD has 2% better DE if he can't defend your average local auskicker? Metres gained? Handballs? Just a bunch of rubbish the rest of it.

How did Sam Frost not get a guernsey?
