Any credibility you were trying to cling onto with the other bullshit you’ve been dribbling, has been lost here.

You take Greene’s leadership out of his team and see how they perform. Not his play, his leadership.

They are pound for pound the toughest team in the comp.

He’s the best captain in the comp. That you can’t work that out is hilarious.

AP has trouble working out 1 + 1.

Why did Bont win best captain then?

It’s a voted award, the players voted for him, fair enough, doesn’t mean I have to agree with it, and I don’t.
I think Bontempelli is a fantastic captain but he’s leading a top 4 list to 5-10 finishes year after year and has at least half a dozen good players not producing their best more often than not. He sets a great example by the way he plays and how he carries his team but he’s not getting much out of them right at the moment is he.

Greene seems to have had no trouble inspiring his and you’d be hard pressed to find anyone at GWS who isn’t playing to their potential with him showing the way.

stopped reading there. Port are the bottom of the ladder for fantasy points and disposals, yet are top 3 on the table.

The champion data AA team is also a joke.

So maybe stats aren’t the be all and end all.

Or maybe you should just admit that you don't understand stats and how it's used rather than ridiculing it. To think that something like fantasy points is a "stat" in the context of the conversation really just shows the ignorrance or stupidity you have in this area.

That's funny

The players think differently

And?

Can’t be too good. Between him and Beveridge (and I’m not knocking Bontempelli’s ‘leadership by example’ just his ability to actually get his side reaching its potential) they’ve conspired to have a top four worthy squad miss the finals altogether.

Think you’ll find in a player voter award a fair degree of it is looking at a captain and judging them on how much effort they put in - an area in which you can’t fault him.

When was the last time an actual winger even got in the AA team?

Well this year there were two elite ones they had to be there. Better than picking inside mids on the wing!

Tom Hawkins has kicked more the 7 goals in a game only once in over 300 games and they made him captain.

Let's just make the AA forward line Curnow, Walker, Larkey, Greene, Allen and Cameron then, shall we?

Greene as captain is sickening. He's a pathetic manlet who eye gouges, scratches, kicks, and is the only bloke in the league who has been done for going an umpire. Not to mention his off field history.

It's bad enough gws reckon he's leadership material, but for the league to pick him as the leader for the best of the best.. disgusting

Yeah it’s an absolute pisstake, but it’s not out of the ordinary for them. Franklin was captain one year, Hawkins last year, Rance at one stage.

This is on another level though, a bloke with over 20 tribunal charges, 40k in fines, 6 week suspension for attacking an umpire, repeated eye-gouging incidents. The bloke is one of the worst people in the game, has never displayed a single postive leadership trait in his career.

Good way to get tongues wagging atleast, which is what I'm sure the panel was going for. It's actually pathetic though and serves as a great way to completely undermine the whole event.
