Maybe play Wagner as a small defender & try Walker on a wing?I don't think a guy like Wagner won't be included at his age if we drafted him.
I think he may start Round 1 on the wing.

That's 2 out of 6 forwards.Doubt that. Jackson and Amiss are both super quick even compared to quick small forwards. Over 10-15 metres I think Amiss might be the quickest player on our list.

They weren’t starting forwards in the 22 being referenced. What about Switta and Freddy?

Only of he is good enough. They're not gonna play him if other options are performing better than him, would still be decent depth.I don't think a guy like Wagner won't be included at his age if we drafted him.

2nd season?Erasmus and Johnson looking at playing a third season in the WAFL - This is high risk of stunting their development or losing them to WCE.
Fine line we're walking here imo.
We've gone past the rebuild phase where we needed to pump games into the next generation. The club definitely needs to show young players what their pathway to the best 22 is, and it needs to keep their development moving along. But in the end their form needs to place them at the front of the queue.Erasmus and Johnson looking at playing a third season in the WAFL - This is high risk of stunting their development or losing them to WCE.

Only second season BTW. Both first year players last year.Johnson injured for first part of last season and Erasmus got a run , So the issue is?Erasmus and Johnson looking at playing a third season in the WAFL - This is high risk of stunting their development or losing them to WCE.

What Will did was extract the ball from a forest of oppo hands time and again, like no other player.Loved will Brodie last season but man its tough to see him holding his spot all season without adding some strings to his bow
Fyfe is a big unknown, but he has the capacity to play forward, whereas Brodie rotates to the pine. What Will did was extract the ball from a forest of oppo hands time and again, like no other player.
But how can our wonderfully talented team win more Centre Bounce clearances? Been watching games ad nauseam and so often see the oppo teams snatching the quick takeaway to goal, when it should've been Freo.
Andy & Caleb are magic but should either of them alternate more, with a bigger teammate, at the centre bounce?
Brashaw to the wing and move a bigger body in.What Will did was extract the ball from a forest of oppo hands time and again, like no other player.

Walker is decent on smalls. Back him ahead of Wagner across half back.Maybe play Wagner as a small defender & try Walker on a wing?

He’s the Michael Barlow. He have enough to his bow. Jaegar will be competing with Fyfe for midfield/forward.Loved will Brodie last season but man its tough to see him holding his spot all season without adding some strings to his bow
IMO Brodie will improve having Fyfe and JOM in the team, with 5 genuine inside mids they each only need to spend a maximum of 60% game time in the middle which will halp Brodie stay fresh both in game and throughout the season. Last year we only had 4 rotations in Mundy, Brayshaw, Brodie and Serong, with chop outs from Aish and Switowski. He’s the Michael Barlow. He have enough to his bow. Jaegar will be competing with Fyfe for midfield/forward.
Brayshaw/Serong/Brodie. Perfect
This is very similar to what I consider our best 22 but I think we need Walker to cover the opposition quick small forwards. He got a touch up in the semi final loss but hopefully it makes him a better player in the long run.B Ryan Cox Chapman
HB Young Pearce Clark
C O’Driscoll Brodie Aish
HF Fyfe Jackson Fredrick
F Schultz Taberner Walters
FOLL Darcy Serong Brayshaw
I/C- O’Meara, Switkowski, Amiss, Henry

Interesting one. Probably doesn't have the nous for it, but it'd be a delight watching him sprint away from the middle with ball in hand. Dude is fast and his delivery i50 is very underrated tooweird question but what would walker look like at the centre bounce. strong and fast. or does he lack the midfield craft. he is very good one on one
I hope it’s not the case, but if I was Walker I’d be very concerned about the recruitment of Wagner, they both play the same position but Wagner is older and can run all day. I must confess I’m not sure how good Wagner is at locking down on small defenders.I'm with you Piggy.
There will be a defender on the bench, the obvious change Walker for Henry, but with so much potential for development things could change rapidly.
