Let’s just keep trading our first rounders into the future year until we collect every other teams first rounder. Then take 18 first rounders to the draft.

Put Turner or Tomlinson up forward

Or maybe, just maybe that bloke we paid pick 15 on last year

Point is, if Petty was to go and we somehow (not likely) turned it into McKay, then we're in a far better place than trying Tomlinson or Turner as a forward.

Don't see him as a link up type capable of multiple possessions in a chain from half back to half forward like Daicos. He can play anywhere you want him tho.

He's the opposite of Caddy , does all the fundamentals really well, great kick over a distance, never looks rushed.
Hey mate. I have noticed in your posts that you are not a fan of Nate Caddy.
Why so? Was it just his mixtapes?

To me he fills a screaming need that this team has.
I have always coveted a Jordan DeGoey/ (pre Ess)Jake Stringer type at Melbourne. That mercurial, unpredictable X factor forward that I feel we lack.

I feel that if the Dees cant nab a Dursma, McKercher or Curtin at 6 I feel we need to go all in on Caddy, even if Ryley Sanders is available. Tom Sparrow already plays the role that Sanders would be asked to play but Caddy shack represents something different that we dont already have.

The biggest knock on Caddy is his consistency Yes. But Charlie Curnow had the same concerns when he was playing at the Geelong Falcons (as well as failing a breath test just prior to the draft). But he was seen as an upside pick whose best was as good as anyone in his draft year. Carlton have since been rewarded by going all in on his talent.

I feel the same way about Caddy. I read he had one game for the Northern Knights where he kicked 6.4 and 25 possessions and then followed it up with 4.3 from 21 possessions not long after. Honestly, If Harley Reid had a similar type game the media would be declaring him the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Draft analysts are already comparing Nate Caddy to Curnow. But I get more Jake Stringer vibes. The guy is 18 but already the exact same measurements as 'the Package'at 192 cm and 92kg. Anyway all I am saying is this guys upside is way too good to ignore.

Yeah but that's where the argument ends, what If the club literally doesn't rate the talent later in the draft this year.

I'm sceptical as f--- of that argument because we hear it every year and there are always good players taken in the 20s and 30s.

I want the list refreshed and 2 draft picks this year doesn't really give you the best chance to do that unless you nail both selections.

Anyway I feel like we've had this discussion before so I won't run it again.

Oliver fell and hit his head according to Tom Morris

Wonder if this will impact any of last weeks commitments he made to the club / respark trade convos.

I just think he drops far too many easy marks and his disposal is suspect, runs around like a headless chook too.

He's got tools and could develop, I just think we have Jefferson already and don't want another development project at Casey right at this moment. We've also spent two top 20 picks on KPFs the past two drafts. Time to look after and start restocking some other areas.

If im wrong and you turn out right Alpine Lodger it will no doubt haunt me having said all that. I dont mind taking a chance on him at a similar pick Carlton did with Curnow. I would just prefer to draft more of a sure thing with our earlier pick.

I am just nervous that we are going to pull the trigger with our first pick on Ryley Sanders. Who I heard is an inside midfielder who finds a heap of the ball but is also one paced and a bad user. So basically Tom Sparrow 2.0. Those players are a dime a dozen and pop up in every draft. But your Jordan DeGoey, Charlie Curnow types less so.

But thats just me.

I think he's more dynamic than Sparrow, but yes, agree we have enough of his sort

What is today?

Is trade period over?

After yesterday I am not expecting much else. Fullarton and Mcadam for late picks and maybe a 3 way trade with north and Wce to get them into pick 1 and us into pick 3

Would love more as I am sick as shit of trade radio doing list reviews by simply just reading out player names or ranking forwards/backs when no one gives a shit and it’s obvious they are just struggling to fill the air.

Surely bloody not. Maybe he'll be a fine player but I couldn't believe that our recruiting team could look at a slow inside mid and think that's what we need.

Hello Trade period? Are you awake?

Is he slow? Doesnt look it on the tape, seems to break away from stoppage and link up well enough, but I dont know what he tested at the combine so am asking.

I would offer Sparrow for one of Adelaide’s first rounders
You gonna try and offer every single one of our B22 to the crows by the time the trade period is finished? Sure lets trade them Clarry, Petty, Sparrow and throw in Trac and Lever while were there.

Would be a heist. Cant imagine hes worth that.

Doubt we would either. Seem to love him.

They need Sparrow type of player in the guts.

His 13 disposals a game would do them more value than us. They seem obsessed with him as well because his an SA kid.
