The discussion about trading up to GCS pick or not is probably a moot point. If we believe what the media are telling us, we are not even in contention.

We aren't that far off.

Depends how hard we are willing to go. Bulldogs and Adelaide are the only ones ahead of us as it stands with this year's picks.

If we were willing to include next years first or trade it, we could easily trump them all.

1 Reid
2 Walter
3 Duursma
4 McKercher
5 Watson
6 Curtin
7 Sanders

Last 4 you could throw a blanket over Caddy, Read and O'Sullivan

Just my order probably way off.
Probably about right or at least close.
The tricky part is the shenanigans that may occur around WCE, North and GC picks plus any compo pick for McKay or a sympathy pick for North. I seriously doubt that WCE will bid on Reid. They want Curtin so they might trade out of one if North end up with something attractive enough, say 11, to go with 2. Could end up like:
1 North Reid
2 WCE Curtin
3 North Compo pick Sanders
4 Hawks Walter
4 GC match Walter
5 Hawks Duursma
6 Syd from GC ?????
Picks 3 and 5 who knows but 1, 2 and the GC match reckon very likely.

They mention on Classified the (proposed) new 3 year deals for draftees and how it might make the Eagles more likely to take Reid.

Straight away McGuire is mentioning restraint of trade and the Federal Court ... ffs he is an unbearable boofhead.

Its really unfortunate he lives permanently in the VFL bubble he could do so much good for the game if he just opens his eyes.

It's not proposed - players have agreed to it as part of the new deal. The offset is they get more time in the off-season.

I honestly thing GC have almost enough points. A lot of the hypothetical trades need to consider:
1- #List spots
2- what GC are getting for sharp, chol and Hollands
3- current points they have in total.

Looking at all 3 above at a minimum a current 1st, future first and pick in 20s will be what they will be asking for….

Still think the dogs need it the most to get a bid before Croft. Stupid if they don’t….. so I expect them to offer 10,17 and F1 for F3rd coming back

How dare a non Victorian club could stop a Victorian kid wanting to play for Collingwood for 3 years. Definitely, restraint of trade.

He could do so much good for the game if he just dropped dead.
