Ideally, which pick do we think we'll get? 19, 40, 52 or 60 this year, or a future pick?

TALKS are progressing on a deal that sends Sydney midfielder Dylan Stephens to North Melbourne.

...trade discussions amicable between the club and the possibility Stephens could be one of the early deals done once the Trade Period opens on Monday.

North Melbourne hold picks 19, 40, 52 and 60 this year as well as a full deck of picks next year, with the additional two future end-of-first-round picks supplied by the AFL for next year too.

Straight swap for 19 would do.

:)

Whatever happened to that Billy King academy player that was supposedly meant to be a first round pick? Does he still play footy? Haha
Did not develop as expected

His younger bro is a Cripps size midfielder supposedly with more talent - draft year potentially next year

We have a few next year that look decent and could be anything - good size as well - key position size

Hmm, interesting on the Dow front....Tom Morris on Paddy Dow:He is one that could actually cause some angst between Carlton & St. Kilda in the trade period because Carlton is adamant that it has to be a trade. St Kilda [says] they can get him as a delisted free agent or via the preseason Draft.”
So we offer Carlton 42 for Dow and they then tell him that we will trade you to Sydney otherwise take your chances in the PSD.

Keeping in mind that zero FA or trade periods are open yet.

Does that mean I can complain about not getting Young from Carlton 1 minute after the trade period opens?

This is for every long term AFLcontract except Buddy's. There was no movement allowed on his contract.
Difference is that Bud's contract was that of a restricted free agent. Hawthorn had the option to match but due to the offer being what it was they chose not to. Would not be right if we were then allowed to change the contract after he came to us.

Given the way the future end-of-first-round picks will work for North I think they might be inclined to deal for one of them.

Although they finished low enough they can decide to drag the price down if they want. Dunno what happens there.

I would love one of their F1sts but I fear it will most likely be 40 which in the end will be of little use to us as I feel we'll only take 3 players in the draft. Pick 31 for Grundy and we then use 11, 23 and the 40 North give us instead of our existing 42.
