Freo would probably make it worth our while to get in front of WCE for Collard.
Um, yeah, we help Freo to get ahead of them for Collard and then the Eagles grab Moir who we are reportedly linked with?

Not sure that is on the cards!

There aren't many picks between our 1st and 2nd picks. If we play it right at that point in the draft, we should be able to get the top 2 players left on our board across those 2 picks. Just need to do our research on who other clubs are keen on to work out who to pick first.

Not sure if it’s been mention on here yet.
But heard a few times we are quite interested in Ashton Moir.
Reads like we're trying to find a Jack Martin clone.

Can respect that, but the execution has the feel of a beancounter approach that might lack some feel of how any given player can change the way a team - or even the sport - is played.

Combine that with the former top 5 status and the injury history and you've got a modern Carlton classic recruitment.

If he had more burst about him more consistently he would be in a top 5 conversation, but he seems to have somehow inherited Martin's ankles and calves.

Would probably give us 34 and an F2 or even one of their F1s. I guess it depends who we rate. Only problem is we have campo twins next year, so any future picks they give us could well be eaten up by bids anyway.
I'd only be accepting their own 2024 1st round pick so we can get ahead of any Campo bid - similar to what the Dogs did this year.

Would we consider trading pick 22 for Freo's pick 34 and a swap of 1st round picks?

If Freo move ahead of us and take Collard, do you think we'll take Moir at 22 ahead of WCE?
Not sure. I selected him with our second pick in our phantom draft before we were rumoured to be in to him.
Loved him last year, but this year was below par, although he may be entitled a mulligan for carrying a hip injury. Perhaps the reason one poster suggested he hadn’t seen much of him kicking on his right peg when he is absolutely dual sided.
I wasn’t advocating, simply when our pick came up in the phantom, he made the most sense. We have traded in Fantasia, so don’t need a small, there are few, or no decent distributing mids around our mark, nor are there talls other than rucks. Theorised that if his year was down because of injury, he could be a hidden gem, as well as because of our need to upgrade our ball retention/kicking.

Thinking most expect him to be there at 30 if he gets past the Eagles.

Also, has Cottrell being promoted from the rookie list or anyone else?

I thought we were going into this draft with two picks? Can we get a rookie now?
If Monahan is on our Cat B rookie list, we have a spare spot on the list.

Technically, we wouldn't even have to promote Cottrell or any other rookie to the senior list, and take 3 picks in the ND. I tend to think we'd still only take 2 picks and leave a spot open for the RD - or SSP for a train on.

This might be complicated by that I'm pretty sure players can't be on the inactive list until after the draft.
