Is it crazy to have 4 eagles in the backline. We know they will be bad so ball will be back there alot and they like to chip kick down there alot. Seriously thinking of going D3-D6 yeo hunt cole gibney. Constable is the only player i might put in there but i feel he is just an extra trade once powell and weller is back in a few weeks. Just dont feel he is best 22 but the eagles players are all safe.
Nothing wrong with 4 eagles, they are all "cash cows" so its fine.

10 years ago we had plenty of GC/GWS players at rookie prices, no harm

Not convinced about Cole but the ball will spend more time down that end of the ground this season. Best season of 56 is only a 17-point upgrade. Arguably, the same can be said about Hunt but I expect to see the ball in Hunt's hands more.

Do you reckon Hurn can play the same role as last year? Might try trade for him in keepers (expecting him to retire this year)
I think he will but he's on his last legs.
Looks ok so far, but take it from someone who's older than Hurn, this sh!t don't get any easier as the days go by.

One thing I think will suit Hurn, is we will quite likely look to use a bit of run out of the back half so he might short kick to Hunt, that may save him pulling a muscle. If no running options, then we love a kick/mark game.

Ridley seems to have a good first month.
Hawthorn
G.Coast
St Kilda
GWS
(Then Melb)

Til that Melbourne game, I'd say his first 4 are opposition with a bit less structure, beggars can't be choosers type of forward 50 entries.

Hunt is priced 20 points more than a basement rookie. His best case scenario is probably a 70 playing wing in a shit eagles side like that. That’s 2 points shy of a career best season. I can get around the JS angle though.

That being said I’d rather take a punt at a Cincotta on field and put that $180k to better use

First time on here in months, did I miss the Ridley discussion? If not, discuss.

McGrath a better option?
See above Essendon have 4 good defensive options who can score D'Ambrosio McGrath Ridley and Redman

It's a guess who scores well

Won't last past the first month
4 games then out is ok I think.
any less is an issue

This is why I liked Milera (over say Worpel) knowing he could slide back to solidify the back after rd 5. I just can’t do it without a proper look but if he performs re 1and other fix upsarent needed then Worpel to milera is certainly one I’ll be considering

Think Weller is close to Rd 1, but Powell had a hamstring set back.
Yeah I'm pretty sure he'll get pushed out quite early unfortunately (for fantasy purposes). In saying that, he's in my team as he should score well while he's there, I think he's worth it for the early points

Think I've come to the conclusion that one of the chesser/cincotta should be on the mid bench providing they're selected round 1, with the other and Wilmot on the def bench. JS and scoring potential seem better with those two, which will come in handy if one of the popular mid rookies goes down, as opposed to selecting a premium priced rookie like hollands for the pine

That's where I'm at too. It gives that bit of flexibility to move things around early days when the pecking order is still up in the air and hopefully saves a trade or two.

I’m sitting on this same structure to for the insurance (assuming their all named!)

Also a good outlet if Ginbey is rested or Yeo for a game here and there.

Otherwise I’m considering Long with his def/fwd dpp. Sounds like he scored well in the first praccy but only 67 in the second. How do you see him scoring for the year down back? Awkward price at 513k so would need to hit an 80 ave to be worth it when could otherwise go Flanders for that price range.

Yeah look probably not if I'm being honest, provides good flexibility but just not worth it for the price. Should score OK but yeah just better options for the 500k you'd pay
