Im an interstate member, P3, who was lucky enough to jag a ticket in 2018 through the ballot but missed this year. As a P3, it's expected.

The solution to me seems so simple.

1. Run the P1 ballot, starting with the best seats, and then moving backward in category. Exhaust category.
2. Then run the P2 ballot, again starting with the best available seats left after P1, then once all seats are gone, move into standing. Exhaust category.
3. Run P3 ballot if any tickets are left to completion.

Would that not be the logical way to do it?

If no P2 were allocated before P1, and tickets are allocated on “next best available “, how can it be that some P2 and P3 got better seats than P1????
They state that P2 & P3 weren’t allocated prior which to me indicates they were allocated simultaneously.

The wording prior makes it ambiguous, could be simultaneous or after all P1 had been allocated.

I think Craig Kelly's statement was well executed and timely though and should alleviate some members concerns, particularly if their charge for a ticket was rejected due to a funds issue.

Feel sorry for the people manning the phones at the club.

This may seem like an odd question guys.

I am in the fortunate position to have access to each event at the G but I am curious as to the different memberships.

There is obviously different levels of club membership.

Is the highest level of membership capped?
And does this guarantee a ticket or is it still luck of the draw?

I usually only go to Anzac Day and GF day (maybe the odd concert), so I probably take it for granted but I have always wondered what benefits the different memberships get you.

It does make it ambiguous which I think is the intention.

My mate goes every year lined up at 4am and gets first couple of rows. Once you grab the ticket you can leave and even go home if you want.
Thank you. I have some crazy mates who are going to line up on Friday night. I don’t want to do that, but l’m happy to get there by 4am. I’d rather be somewhat sleep deprived than a complete wreck.

Surely the Carlton or Melbourne boards are better places to source tickets?
I have no intention of selling mine and would be surprised if a Pies supporter would choose to.
Am I wrong?

With the significant amount of category 5-7 seats being allocated, is it simply that the quality of seating has changed for club members?

It seems to be a major departure from all previous grand finals with the sheer amount of lower caliber seats on offer.
I got Q1 row N, very similar to 2018

Club 5/Legends memberships are capped around 14,500, which is the highest level of membership.

If you register within the designated timeframe, all these members are guaranteed a Grand Final ticket.

The best seats are saved for corporates and afl packages.. why give the fan cat 1-2 tickets when you can give them the worst ones?

Is there really that many? Because all Cat2 got tickets it seems to surely there is over 2.5k cat 2 (total allocation 17k)

Too logical. And this is where it comes back to the way Ticketek generates the tickets & their own systems. I think this is what people are mostly complaining about, those with lower priority memberships receiving better seats than those with higher priority memberships.

The AFL could increase the overall club member allocation.

The MCG could change up the categories to be more favourable to club members.

The club as I see it, has delivered on what they promised. Buy a Legends membership & you are guaranteed a ticket (if you select any including standing room).

I am guessing there is a waiting list for this level, as people potentially drop off.
Yes I think so.

I upgraded to a Legends membership at the end of 2014, without the need to wait.

I guess I was lucky I did this at a time when the club's performances dropped off following the 2010-11 era and spots opened up.
