It's a weak argument, 5 vs 4 on the bench is not the same dis-advantage as 4 vs 3. All it will need is a strong statement from the AFL that this is the last foreseeable change to bench numbers and that's the end of it.That's always been the chestnut issue though ......it's not 5 v 5 on the bench
At least with the 2022 rule .....if you lost a player to concussion, theoretically, it was still 4 v 4 on the bench .....but then the AFL watered it down & the abuse occurred
Should have tightened the rule ....the 5th man is for concussion OR if you include an injury sub, you cannot play the next week
Now the Coach's complaints will be exactly the same when it was 4 v 4 on the bench ......which the AFL addressed by bringing in the 5th ......the circle of life just keeps repeating
Does anyone, really?

Here is why:Former Gold Coast and Richmond defender Oleg Markov is set to join Collingwood under the supplementary selection period rules.
Markov had been courted by Carlton this week as a potential replacement for injured defender Zac Williams.
But Markov was absent from Carlton training on Friday and is believed to be ready to sign with the Magpies.
Doesn't say Ziebell will be in the AFL though

You can all thank me in your own special ways, especially fellow campaigners who likely went to some of these matches.
3.5 hours of The Winners from 1977, I cannot believe I found this. Enjoy it folks.
Drew Morphett, Sandy Roberts, Scotty Palmer…how good! Reminds me of the old midweek night games (and their many names).Drew Morphett?
How much should I be concerned (if at all) that 10 of my 22 on field on my current team have the round 15 Bye?
Gotcha. Thanks!Not.
That's almost not enough.
They can be traded in the other direction in the weeks upcoming for players who have previous byes.
12 or 13 is probably the right number
How many trades is ideal to have left by the time bye rounds roll around? Is it worth saving many trades for post-byes?
Aim for 1 per round after the byes. You should have a complete team before the byes end.How many trades is ideal to have left by the time bye rounds roll around? Is it worth saving many trades for post-byes?
At least 4 would be good just for injuries just like the others have said team should be complete by then.Yes.
You want 4 or 5 for the finals.
I'd want at least 8 left after the last bye.
Shouldn't be that hard this year, they've given us too bloody many
I'm aiming for 23 premo's this year. Given a reasonable run with injuries it should be doable. And will help navigate the last two bye rounds. That's the plan anyway. At least 4 would be good just for injuries just like the others have said team should be complete by then.
I had 2 trades left for the last 8 rounds last year but did have good bench cover. Ended up wasting my last trade Zerrett>Dawson Round 23 it cost me a spot in the Top 100

Those last round trades never work. But you feel like you have to use the trade.

I had 25 by the end last year. Rozee, Blakey and Cameron were 23-25.
I'm just bragging
