When he came to the club, the Advertiser (or something) did a puff piece on him calling him a rocket scientist because of how smart he is. Or it might have been a club story, I don’t remember. So, yes it was a joke.

And he can’t tap for s**t regardless how smart he is. That’s not a joke.
Always thought they spun VB as the rocket scientist .. geo-physics is closer to rocket science than medicine .. but yeah .. the Advertiser

So what do we generally think McAdam and Doedees trade value will be? McAdam for mine is a huge must for the Dees after watching tonight. We have to demand their pick 24. Doedee I have no idea. Again, hopeful we could get compo in the 2nd round. Would give us an extremely strong hand to do a deal with the Suns..

McAdam best case 24, worst a late 2nd so that early mid 30s. My prediction Future 2nd.

Doedee either Rd 2 or end of Rd 2

If Melbourne offered a first round pick for Taylor Walker would you forcibly trade him?

No, that would be very very bad.

We need Tex while we are building.

He is the reason we are in games for sooo many matches.

He is the spiritual leader of our club.

Melbourne have the definition of a stacked midfield … Petracca / Viney / Oliver / Gawn.

And yet they have lost the last 4 finals at the MCG (home).

Is everyone certain that midfield is where ALL your capital should be spent?

Yes. Without them, they’d be bottom 4.

I'd be happy with any of McKercher, Duursma (the good one), Sanders or even Curtain (not that he'd likely be there anyway) if we could get Gold Coast's pick 4. Preferably for next year's first and a couple of seconds, but I'd be happy to overpay by adding this year's first for a future second back for the right player. But I wouldn't want to spend that capital to end up with Nick Watson.

But if North get pick 3 compo for McKay and Riley Sanders for free, do we even still want to trade for pick 4 (now effectively 7)?

Are we better off to let the Dogs get 4 and we give up a couple of seconds for their pick 10 and take Connor O'Sullivan (or Ollie Murphy if gone) and Darcy Wilson?

Or try to trade into next year's mid rich draft with West Coast/ North (the only 2 you'd know will be bottom 3) instead?

Well our midfield in 05/06 was what got us close to two grand finals.

Forward line of Perrie/McGregor/Welsh/Burton/Hentschel

They won a flag with them.
Ideally you need a forward line too, as they also have a very good back line.
Maybe their coach sucks 🤷‍♂️

The problem is the form of that stacked midfield.
Gawn is looking very old, battered and bruised; Oliver did nothing last night and looks way off after his extended injury; Petracca was OK, but not as influential as usual; Viney was good, but battling...his last tired kick to contribute directly to the loss said it all.
