Heard a bit of Dwaynepipe on SEN trying to get him off. “Accidental”

Yep. It’s either accidental or reckless/intentional depending on who you play for.

There should be no comment allowed by the media on MRP proceedings.

He absolutely has to get 2 weeks - if the player didn’t return to the field. The Polly Farmer write-up last week, in conjunction with Marley’s suspension, renders it a lay down misère.

" side by side " Caracas.

Christian; " after viewing the very limited and grainy vision it's not clear wether Adams knew the Richmond player was there. Bucks & Eddie said that Adams had been called to the bench and immediately ran in that direction. So clearly it was an accident and Adams will be free to play this week and rd. 1 whilst also attending the bedside of the Richmond player to deliver flowers and chocolates "

Absolutely unfathomable! I have no words.

How can they’re be “very limited, grainy vision” when it happens a couple of metres away from the guy taking the kick?

To be fair I think he was joking if you read to the end

Also here's the actual statement:

Carlton co-captain Sam Docherty (right) was one of three players fined for a melee in the Dockers-Blues game
THE AFL is set to collect almost $10,000 in fines, but no players face suspension following the Match Review Officer's assessment of week two of the Marsh Community Series.
Eight players have been charged, including three for a melee in Fremantle's win over Carlton.
FULL STATEMENT Read the Match Review Officer's complete findings
Returning Blues leader Sam Docherty, teammate Jack Newnes, and new Docker Blake Acres face $1000 sanctions for their part in the second-quarter incident.
That's not the end of the financial losses for Carlton players, with Gold Coast recruit Jack Martin also hit with a $1000 fine for careless contact with an umpire.

Martin was one of three players to be charged with that offence – Sydney's James Rowbottom and Fremantle's Andrew Brayshaw the others.
Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams copped the most serious sanction of the weekend, facing a $2000 fine for an incident with Nick Vlastuin in the Magpies' win over Richmond on Sunday.
PRE-SEASON FIXTURE Check out your team's Marsh Community Series games
Adams' fourth-quarter indiscretion was assessed as careless conduct, low impact and how contact.

" Adams' fourth-quarter indiscretion was assessed as careless conduct, low impact and low contact "

And how did we know that ?
I think it's actually careless/low/high but there's a typo

In my opinion, it Should be intentional/low/high which is supposed to be 1 week, but hey what do I know

Taylor Adams, Collingwood, has been charged with engaging in Rough Conduct against Nick Vlastuin, Richmond, during the fourth quarter of the Marsh Community Series match between Richmond and Collingwood, played at Norm Minns Oval on Sunday March 1.

In summary he can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct, Low Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea

Chook ****ing lotto alright. Doesn't play the rest of the game and it's low?

I think they held him out of the game as a precaution and because it's a practise game.

Clearly the most accidental incident yet the only one punished with a ban.

No wonder the only former player with any clue about a way to make the game safer was the one calling for mrp consistency.
Until they start prioritising intent over outcome we are going to see this sort of inconsistency.

In truth, it’s always going to be hard to definitively prove intent. You could just imagine the melts on here when somebody gets rubbed out for swinging and missing.

Disagree. If you swing a punch, you deserve to be suspended, whether or not it connects.

I think the point is a valid one. Sure, it's not always easy to prove intent, but a number of the ones that were clearly bad outcomes from acceptable football acts would not be harshly treated like they are now (wrongly, IMO).

Exactly. No justifiable reason to swing a punch at all imo.

I agree. However, I guarantee the outcry would be worse than it is now.
