Is there a single still frame that shows definitively that there is contact to the head? I haven't seen one.. It sure looks close but you would think that, given the lack of a free kick, lack of reaction form Day and the lack of a concussion or any injury that there has been no such contact.

How can they say that he isn't going for the ball when there are multiple frames of him reaching for it? He's contesting the ball right up until the point where he fumbles it off of his foot and then protects himself by bracing for contact and collides with Day in a perfectly legal manner.

I really can't understand this result.
They should get The ARC to conduct a video review for head high contact. That would prove it once and for all.

Just wait until ex-boxers start suing for head knocks.

It will be punches to the body only…
Oh don’t worry those grubby yank Lawyers will find a way to get a juicy class action going with boxing at some stage.

Mike Tyson will be suing the Boxing federation for being hit in the head..

But no one has even stated there was contact to the head. So where is the link to head trauma if contact is made to the shoulder.

Watch a Brownlow favourite or a star player get off the same action this year because of no matter injury.
Club couldn’t argue the medium impact down to low impact clause as the tribunal and MRO said from the get go there was contact to the head and that’s minimum medium impact.
Left us with no option but to argue the careless charge down to no other reasonable act. And we lost on the basis that Logue bumped Day in the head with medium impact.

It’s absolutely cooked and honestly clever by the AFL. They have backed any player and club into an endless loop where head is involved, automatic suspension and you try and beat the charge and wind back at the same result. Madness

Next time just launch with two feet of the the ground and send the oppo player into next week and only get a two week suspension.
May as well have taken him out of the game , perhaps when we play Port . There’s a player there Potentially

None of the angles showed that Logue had made any contact with the head.
I can’t understand how we didn’t argue this. Day had no blood from his mouth or any sort of facial injury.
To me it looks like he made contact with the chest then it slides onto his shoulder.

Agree, but I'm beat how Pickett launching himself like a missile into Smith only gets 2 weeks if the AFL wants to be seen protecting player's heads. Or Franklin getting the same punishment as Logue for one of his patented elbow-out head snipes. Like every other aspect of our once great, now corporatised game, it's the inconsistency that pisses off supporters, and breeds cynicism.

I'm so cynical I can see Geelong finishing bottom this year, snaring Harley Reid at #1 and getting pick #2 for being winless, before returning to the grand final next year. :shoutyoldman:

I'm told that the Cats traded their round 1 pick in this years draft to GWS. Smart move in hindsight???
