I agree with TT and Powell being used as potential trades for either picks or players. TT has already shown us the type of player he is, and while he can do amazing things, they are often not enough of them, and always on his terms. The WC game the perfect example. With his talent, he should have dominated, and he should have, but he was/is just too lazy, and at his age and time in the system, I fear its too late to change him.

Powell, just wont get the minutes he needs in the middle, especially if we end up drafting another bunch of mids.
TT was pretty average for most of the game yesterday but he has probably been our best performed player since his return.

My feeling is he's probably worth more to us than what we'd get given his recent troubles.

If he wants to leave or he's not meeting standards, then it's a no brainer.

TT and Zurhaar have always been the big watch for me, I can't see at least one of them being at the club next year.

I'm keeping both, but i just don't think it will be the case.

I rate Zurhaar significantly lower than it appears most North fans do.

I'd take an early-mid second rounder for him.

Tbh it’s great that he has a hobby - but no professional athlete should be diving into opening a restaurant and making gourmet meals and pairing wines during the week when you’re in season.

I’m sure the calories and carb stack up when it’s monitored. But come on. Save your bougie meals for post game and the off-season.

Lol, collectively we’re honestly not far from blowing up at players are we…

He's a good player but he isn't getting much better. He's like Gary Rohan without the pace or defensive efforts. I'd sell high if his value is perceived high atm.

Essendon were keen on him historically. He’s actually one of those players that the footy landscape deem to be of quality.

He’s stringer-esque or lite. If we could get 11 off Essendon I’d be wrapped. Bard would be all over that I reckon

Love him but I’m over the truffles and filled pasta. He eats the way I do, yet I’m not an elite athlete and just put 10kg on in Europe!

I absolutely believe he’s a player, my frustration is, he needs to lower his eyes rather then blaze away.
So many times he burnt teammates this year trying to do the super man effort, mind you he is capable of these things 50% of the time.
He reminds me a lot of Jack.

He's too inconsistent, chooses when to go vs when not to go and is one of the more selfish players we have in our side.

He has been around now for 7 years and I'm not sure he's setting standards with his attitude at training and preparation.

I like his character and the memories he has given us, but I think he hurts us way more than we want to admit.

It's much easier to criticise the usual whipping boys like Curtis Taylor, Lachie Young and Kayne Turner (who all deserve it), but reality is I think guys like Zurhaar are just as much of an issue but get away with it due to being a fan favourite who was won us some games and goes hard (when he feels like it).

He's basically going to be the McKay of 2024.

It would be beyond stupid to trade him as a pre-Agent this offseason when there's a likelihood he could trigger Band 1 in a bottom 4 position again in 2024.

Almost everyone is tradeable, for the right price. Agree in principle though.

This year his stats for Goal Assists and I 50s increased significantly. From the 200 range in terms of ranking across the comp to around 20. And other stats did improve shitloads as well.Dunno exactly but I did list a whole bunch of his improvements in his thread a few weeks ago if you want to check them out.

His improvement this year, statistically and just from watching how he often he gets the ball up the ground has been huge. His heat maps also look massive compared to the past. He gets more of the ball and does more with it. He might not be properly fit but he's definitely fitter than he's ever been before. All that media of him training over the preseason has been backed up by a big increase in effective output.

Zurharr and TT are the sort of players you want in GF campaigns, at 25-30 years old. The only question on them earlier was commitment/foitness/training standards.

This year both of them have brought in to that, Zurhaar since pre Seaon, Thomas since whenever the penny dropped for him (if it has.) If they both take this pre season seriously then it'll be the first proper one for TT and the second for Zurhaar. That improvement on its own could be worth a few wins. There's a couple of games we'd probably have won this year with this current iteration of TT.

"The biggest thing I've really progressed this year is getting on the outside and really improving my running and kicking goals. I like the really good players like Lachie Neale, Clayton Oliver, (Luke) Davies-Uniacke and those types."

Give him the #7 with the pulled up socks, will be a nice transition from JZ.

I don’t get the JZ hate, I get the JZ frustration. But at the end of the day the bloke was a warrior and gave us everything he had.

Like most he has frustrated me no end in the last couple of years, but at the end of the day I think I will remember him more for those years where he was at the top of his game more than the last few years of frustration.

I just used the Magpies as a example cause the moved on some very big names and moved up the ladder from what 2nd last to top4 in one year but like you say they do have assets we dont but lets hope Clarko and company can change that.

I know this was just an example and I'm definitely not having a go at your point, although the reason we're struggling to get up the ladder is the exact reason Collingwood were able to rebuild so quickly. Quality players in the right age demographics.

Pendlebury, Howe, Sidebottom, Elliott, Mihocek, Hoskin-Elliott, Adams, Crisp, Moore, De Gooey, and Maynard are all high quality (half of which are AA quality) players that were in that 2020 side (pre-stephenson trade) and are in the critical +26 age bracket.

We have Goldstein, Hall, Ziebell, Cunnington, McDonald and Turner as +26 year olds from our 2020 list. I'd argue only Goldstein (and LMAC as a non-starting player) could still be on the Collingwood list if they were there in 2020.

We just didn't have any quality in the right age demographic and their are no quick fixes.

It's interesting to note the older players consider have added since 2020 as well, in Mitchell, McStay, Markov, Frampton and even Johnson. Collingwood aren't a young side.

It makes you realise that clarko is probably going to be active tempting older B+ players from other clubs over the coming years.

As a segue, posters also need to look at the data on players under 21-22 like Phillips and Powell. There seems to be some misremembering of players development arch's at a similar age. For instance, the stats just don't back up the assertion that Philips is an under performer (e.g. compare to Touk miller). Plenty of fine players were playing at a similar level at the same age.

Our young players could be better, but they ain't the problem ... It's our lack of quality over 24. It's hard to see, but this only gets better from here and can be accelerated with good trading.

It might sound over done, but every incremental year Cameron Joyce isn't at our club, our list gets better. He really was so bad...

Hey? It wasn’t a knock on JZ at all.
