Would you be willing to cop another spoon for him? I’m a bit torn, the thought of another spoon is gross but then I watch clips of Reid and think it just might be worth it.
i thought JHF would be worth copping a spoon but that backfired

i guess difference is if we got a spoon this year again for the 3rd year straight that should give us a start of first priority pick

giving us pick 1,2 and ports first

Got to factor in that Reid is from Tonnie, no go home factor, and so far he looks a more exciting prospect then JHF, big call I know, but the kid’s special.

Happy to take the odds of banking elite talent with early picks but would never again wish for a specific #1 pick. So many variables for how the players track from there.

Harley Reid could well end up the Bryce Gibbs to the Joel Selwood or Jack Riewoldt we get later in a 1st round.

As good as he is, and potentially will be, he's not worth the ignominy of another wooden spoon. This is the year to start the upward trajectory we need to start winning some games. I will however happily take him with Port's 1st round pick when they win the wooden spoon.

Port finishing last would be the greatest thing since 99.

I can't see the kangas finishing last this year, but you will enter the draft with a top 5 pick so I wouldn't get too hung up on missing out on Reid. Harley Reid is a gun but the top 30 is littered with high quality draftees so regardless the kangas will end up with a long term player.
But I want Reid!!!

If we win the spoon again we will more than likely enter the draft with the first 3 picks.

1 - PP after last years assessment
2 - Natural Pick
3 - Ben McKay compensation pick, he wont be hanging around.

Throw in the Port Pick for good measure as another top 10.

If this happens, expect a lot of serious depressed people on here.

Pardon?

After how it turned out last time, I’m fine with never picking #1 ever again.

Harley Reid may be extremely talented, but the level of pressure, hype and expectations that come with a prospect like that being drafted to Victoria are a huge consideration.

Guys like Tom Boyd, Tom Scully and JHF also show that if a player is hyped enough before the draft, they’re instantly valued at close to a million per year.

My ideal result would be for Poooort to be found guilty of interference in luring Judas to Tarpland and the AFL putting a point sanction in place that puts them in the spoon position (after finishing 6th on results) so their first round pick becomes #1 and comes to us.

A man’s allowed to dream.
