Chedder's not really a hulking type of mid like Tom Green, Patrick Cripps (or George Stephens)
He's a 190cm mid with pretty explosive leg speed and good run and carry but is solid enough in the clinches.
I'd like him more to Chris Judd for physique and style of play.

Was named in the best again today in the Dragons prelim win.
Provided some nice run through the midfield. Finished off a goal from 50 on the run as he streamed through the centre.
Bit like we had become accustomed to seeing Adam Treloar doing.

Reckon he'll be there or thereabouts. Listed at 25 in Cal Twomey's list and 30 in Rookie Me Central's top 40 list. He had a slow start to the season and missed Vic Metro's team, but he's moved past players like Will Brown who commenced/captained that team. Metro could have done with someone of Charlie's dimensions to complement underagers in Ashcroft, Jagga Smith and Josh Smillie.

Dragons surged at the end to beat the Falcons by 34 points.
Play the Ranges in the Grand Final next weekend, who upset Tasmania

PREVIEW

Lachlan Voss’ return to the Sandringham Dragons line-up in the last several weeks has been nothing short of sensational.

The key defender suffered a serious ankle in round one and would not return to the field until round 14.

Now he’s playing a key role for the Dragons as they prepare for a semi-final showdown against the Geelong Falcons on Sunday.

In last week’s quarter-final win over the Northern Knights, Voss played a key role opposed to top-10 draft prospect Nate Caddy.

Now he’s ready to take on the Falcons’ best.

Sandringham talent manager Mark Wheeler said the 200cm prospect was beginning to show all the signs the club were hoping would come together.

“It was a really unfortunate start to the year but he’s responded really well,” he said.

“Since coming back, he’s produced some really good footy, we thought he broke even with Caddy last week.

“Voss and Ollie Murphy are two developing defenders who have been learning the craft. They’d previously been rucks or forwards. We’ve been really impressed with their development.”

In recent weeks, the Dragons have been able to put their best side on the park.

That’s thanks to school footy and national carnival commitments coming to an end for 2023.

It’s allowed the likes of Ryley Sanders and Levi Ashcroft to excel in the middle of the ground while Charlie Edwards has “gone to another level” according to Wheeler.

“As soon as we got the boys back, we knew we were going to get better every week,” he said.

“And that’s no different heading into this weekend as well. Our wingers, which is a core rotation of about three or four boys, is really starting to generate what we need on the outside for us.

“Guys like Cooper Lord, Will Nish, Josh Docking and Tarkyn O’Leary have been building really nicely.”

Forward of centre, the Dragons are also starting to find more consistency in their goalkicking.

Hawthorn father-son prospect Calshear Dear, Luke Lloyd and Will Brown all finished with multiple last weekend.

“The forwards are clunking their marks and finishing off their work which isn’t what was always happening before,” Wheeler said.

The Dragons don’t have any recent history against the Falcons this year with Sunday’s game set to be the first meeting between the two sides.

“We’re expecting a tough challenge, a well drilled side,” Wheeler said.

The Falcons will roll into the clash off the back of a dominant quarter-final win over GWV Rebels last weekend in which key forwards Thomas Burke and Will McLachlan each bagged three up front.

got to give him a chance to fill out, build on that frame. Ed Allen is taller, but I don’t see him being big bodied where as Edwards maybe could be. Plus I like his work when he is in the middle, wins clearance and can break away from that contest

Really? I look at Ed’s build (particularly his shoulders) and the first thing I think is that he’s going to be a bloody monster in a few years.

Yes, he is already starting to look quite imposing.

im not sure if he will ever big big through the torso, doesn’t look to my eye that he will fill out in that way. He has that Jarrod Waite type body
time will tell I guess. He has plenty of years ahead of him

Big bulking strong and physical 25 -30 disposal inside midfielder be nice.
Like Tom Green for GWS to feed Nick Daicos.

Any of those available.

I like Stephens. Not the most athletic player (speed wise) in the draft but a big hulking player who likes to impose himself inside the contest.

I actually think he’s not too dissimilar to Sier, but with a much much better penetrating kick.

If he’s there at our first pick I’d take him, despite our glaring developing KPP issues.

I really like the idea of finding a player that’s a bigger body that is plug in and play.

Think Jack Graham from Richmond when they were in their window.

Yeah hopefully we hit GC King up as a RFA next year.
