Lions GM Brad Holmes said there is "mutual interest" between the team and Jamaal Williams in him re-signing.

Williams is set to hit free agency once the new league year turns over. The bruising back signed with the Lions two years ago but broke out in 2022. He rushed for 1,066 yards and a jaw-dropping, 17 touchdowns. That mark led the NFL and is now a franchise record for the Lions. He also became a fan-favorite for Detroit in the process. The market for two-down veterans isn't particularly hot, so the Lions should be able to bring Williams back if they want to. If he is re-signed, D'Andre Swift will be pigeon-holed into a committee once again, much to the dismay of dynasty players across the globe.

I still think them taking Bijan at 18 would be an awesome move give them the best back talent wise since Barry Sanders

They need to fix the defense a bit more before they worry about the offense and running backs. Would be a sexy pick but not a good one. Better chance the Lions go TE if they go offense I reckon.

I think this draft for tight end is quite deep could easily get one of Kincaid/Mayer/Washington with their 2nd rounder.

Lions have enough picks that if they want to draft for talent at rb or qb in first couple of rounds i dont mind it.

They have picks 6, 18 (thought it was 12 thats texans), 48, 55 and 81 in first 3 rounds.

That Stacy video is a disgrace.

I've got r/publicfreakout on my reddit feed and every night i see horrendous acts by humans on other humans all around the world.

Kid beating his teacher senseless over confiscating his Nintendo Switch....a mob of Pakistanis assaulting a pretty woman in the street ...a russian tik toker who goes around one punch knocking out drunk people.....an Indian guy beating senseless a woman who turned down his advances.....a group of Indians same to a guy.....a group of Indians machetijng off a guy's hand because he protested at a rally....etc etc

Bateman is about to be traded

IMO that's more calling out ex S&C coach Steve Saunders (clearly the worst in the league) and Greg Roman for his shit passing concepts - although it does end up with the GM & HC for keeping those guys on for multiple years after they should've been let go

So why watch all that if it disturbs you so much?

ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports "there has been progress between Daniel Jones and the Giants" on a contract extension.

Raanan noted that the two sides could come to an agreement on a new contract before Tuesday, the deadline for teams to assign the franchise tag. He added, "It sounds as if there will be a four at the front of the annual salary." If Jones's new deal sees him making exactly $40 million per year, he will have the seventh-highest average salary for a quarterback. Jones drastically cut back on his mistakes in his first year with Brian Daboll and finished 11th in EPA per play. He did this while throwing to one of the most talent-deficient receiving rooms in the league. If Jones ends up being one of the league's highest-paid passers, the Giants will be making a big bet on his ability to take another step and match the ceiling of quarterbacks like Dak Prescott and Matthew Stafford, both of whom average $40 million a year on their current contracts.

The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt writes the Jets "should be viewed as the favorite" to land Derek Carr if Aaron Rodgers winds up back in Green Bay.

It sounds like the Jets are Carr's preferred team of the three serious suitors he's visited with so far and that Rodgers' pending decision is the main hold-up in Carr's process. Rosenblatt writes that the Jets' meeting with Carr "went well" and Robert Saleh compared him to Matthew Stafford. Rosenblatt writes that the Jets have not offered a contract to Carr yet, and that they are willing to wait out Rodgers before turning to Carr.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Raiders plan to place the franchise tag on Josh Jacobs if no deal is reached by Tuesday's deadline.

Jacobs has already hinted he'd possibly play on the tag if the Raiders "loaded up" around him. The Raiders still have plenty to figure out about their offseason and Jacobs, the NFL's leading rusher last season, is only going to make $10.091 million on the tag. It probably makes sense for the Raiders to figure out where they are before deciding if they want to commit to Jacobs for multiple seasons.
