Charlie Constable to the back lines, they like his kicking skills, interesting.

In the back line he's basically Jack Bowes for $120k a year instead of $600-800k lmao

Actually quite a smart move imo and could potentially work. Far better than trying to get him in the midfield where he's almost bottom of the pecking order.

Yeah, makes sense. We brought in Blakely and J Anderson (and lost Bowes) so, overall, we are still probably up an inside midfielder for depth. Then Flanders, Davies and Sharp (obviously more a wing) could be in and out of the team in that area of the ground too.

Was thinking the exact thing. Hopefully his skills under pressure are better than bowes. Under no pressure bowes is fine, add pressure and he goes to water. I like the idea, as you said was never going to get a gig in the midfield.

I felt bad when Bowes was put on the block because of his back story but I just couldn't see how a slow half back flanker was going to improve us this year.
But I guess we'll watch and shake our heads in disbelief when he turns into a Stawell Gift winning Brownlow favourite in his first year with Geelong

Credit to Constable for trying his best. It seems to me there is a long queue in back line too. His is not fast, great if he can kick, makes good decisions. Let's see how he defends.

I will watch Constable, Long and also Johnston and Uwland with interest. Actually, I will watch all players with interest. I can't wait :)

Could definately see Constable was playing defence with all the kick in's he was taking on Suns Insta Story.

He has played their last year in the VFL, hopefully he can get his confidence up and press for selection.

A squad of 30 AFL ready, fit and firing guys is very exciting, 2 winning sides each week is gonna make life a whole lot better for everyone

Will see how he goes. Certainly worth a go.
He is clearly way down the pecking order for inside mid time and would be delisted at the end of the year guaranteed if he were to keep plugging away in that role.

Having a 193cm defender who is good with ball on the ground, a good decision maker and a neat kick (does he actually?) can only be a good thing.
He looks very lean in the pictures of training we've seen. Like quite skinny. Think he could potentially play against the Isaac Heaney, Jack Gunston, Oliver Henry type. Rangy, mid sized athletic guys.

Is there anything happening, tomorrow (Tuesday)? I’ll be out there in the morning with my son for a community sports program.

Someone should pick me up and drive me to training on wed jk

I will either get an Uber or try figure out which bus to take from Broadbeach. Gotta do some research

ETA: bus then walk

You'll probably find this link helpful. It will give you step by step instructions on how to get from one spot to another in just about any part of south east Queensland.

Was it 3 years ago you last time visited Suns training? Wondering if you notice difference? I hope boys looks stronger, more mature.

Yeah I reckon it was January 2020 the last time I was here. Ballard had a shoulder reco at that point

The boys definitely look bigger and stronger

Is Ellis recovering from injury? He’s just training on his own doing some slow run throughs and ball kicking
Nothing reported. Hm, it looks like soft injury. He did have some hamstring/calf issues last year. He is reaching that age as a runner. Common, Sharp, this is your chance :)
