The issue with giving up your barcode is that it circulated and used next week for the grand final . I am assuming the finals barcode is the same for the GF

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

This is entirely fair and why I wasn't going to ask initially. I can't give you anything but my word that I'm stuck here in Brishane due to my physical health. Given the health my eyes I'm not allowed to fly.

Thank you for considering it though. I appreciate that

While we have been keeping sides to low scores... (through their inaccuracy's)

Our defence have been conceding a lot of shots on goal, through turnovers and some easy shots at that,
while our forward line struggles and scraps for their opportunities...

We need to sharpen this up, if were to beat Brisbane and go all the way... Which we absolutely can!!!

We need to change this around if were to beat Brisbane and go all the way...
Thought most of the Dees' shots were pretty difficult...

The four weeks after the bye round, we scored 100+ points 3 of the four weeks and 98 points, once during.
Since those 4 rounds, we haven’t scored over 80 points 5 out of those 7 games and none over 100 during this time.
Simple, JSoS has been missing after the initial 4 rounds preceding the bye. He is a key to our forward line, with not only his defensive pressure but additional height and flexibility.
IMO, if we want to beat Brisbane and Collingwood, we need him along side of Charlie and McKay.
Tough decisions will need to be made this week with players such as Cuningham, Fogarty, Cottrell, Mots and Owies.
We will also need to be mindful of the Acres/Docherty shoulder issues. We need to have midfield depth on the bench.

My side would look like:

Newman Weitering Marchbank
McGovern Kemp Saad
Acres Cripps Docherty
Fogarty/Cottrell Charlie Owies/Motlop
JSoS McKay Martin
Pittonet Hewett Walsh
Cerra Kennedy Cincotta TdK
Sub: Hollands/Cuningham

Tough selection calls needed.

Hi all

I wasn't going to do this but thanks to the generosity of another poster I am now one membership barcode away from being able to attend the prelim final with my partner and a support worker (successful ticketing provided obviously).

If anyone has one that isn't going to be used I would be eternally thankful.

While I'm here- I'll ask: is anyone interested in meeting before or after the game? Happy to say g'day.
There’s a couple organized events happening - Corporate pass events at the Plough Inn, The Norman & The Pinneapple Hotel & the event below 👍
Good luck tomorrow

In 5 out of Brisbane’s 6 losses this year, they’ve lost both the clearances and contested possessions. This is where we win the game IMO.

They’ve only lost both of these stats in a win ONCE this year, in round 21 against Freo when they probably should have lost. Otherwise, when they win one or both of these stats in a match, they win the game.

At this stage, like others have also posted, I’m thinking McKay and Martin probably replace Kennedy and Cuningham.

Hollands to remain the sub, considering the state of Acres and Doc.

Hard to see any additional/unforced changes… we’re seemingly playing our preferred back 7 and midfield/wing group including the 2 rucks. The forward structure will return to ‘normal’ with the 3 talls (charlie, Harry, tom), a med fwd (Martin), then the 3 smalls (fog, mots, Owies).

We only rolled 4 mids through the CBAs with any significant time - Cripps, Walsh, Cerra & Hewett - plus a grand total of 5 shared by Fog and DC, and none by Doc this week. If DC is dropped, I’m thinking Fog can cover his CBAs pretty easily.

Support worker should be free if you are the holder of a companion card Wickzki!

Mate, great news. Due to generosity of another Bagger, I can go now too. I'll be doing a tour of a few pubs before so could tee up a pint.

Let's get these tickets first! Let's pack that place out with Navy Blue.

Update: thanks to fellow posters my tickets are sorted if we get lucky in the morning.

Thank you so much to you awesome people. You know who you are. Fingers crossed we get the win so you can go in a couple of weeks!!

I’m having a look from another angle.

This is our EF against Sydney

So what changed in two weeks that would make the selection committee shift from this stance? Especially, if Gunston is selected?

They would have seen a lack of run.
So, Cunners out for Hollands. Marginal, but required IMO

And stick with sub: Motlop
Motlop, may not be an ideal sub, but when push comes to shove - the selection committee has chosen Owies over Motlop previously and is likely to do it again

Cunners and Kennedy for Martin and Mckay. I'd like to see Boyd in for Marchy too but depends on Brisbanes fwd line mix and how he'd handle the big stage. Marchy I never have doubt over his intent or commitment, I don't think he's necessarily the better player of the two though but I know he'll put his body on the line any time he has to.
As much as I like Boyd, he only got 7 touches in our 126 pt loss to Suns 2’s, his last outing. Apparently had a Barry Crocker, won’t hold him in good stead for finals selection in crunch games.

And stick with sub: Motlop

That would be a terrible decision.
Owies has been pretty poor the last 2 weeks. Motlop was much better on Friday, and was unlucky not to have made a bigger impact last week. If 2 umpiring decisions had gone his way, it wouldn't have been such a close game.

Motlop is a killer, the kind of player who can win you a game. Owies isn't that at the moment.

I believe the Blues can book a grand final berth on Saturday. I'm not gonna suggest for one moment that they have nothing to lose - of course they do, because chances like this are almost as rare as intelligent Crows fans :).

But the fact that Brisbane loses at the Gabba about as often as one meets a Collingwood fan with a full set of teeth could actually work against them if it's a tight game. Carlton have shown themselves to be the masters of such a contest during this finals series. Don't forget the 1999 preliminary final: you apparently had no hope against Essendon, and how did that play out?

Good luck on Saturday.

Agreed, personally I would err on giving an opportunity to a younger player - but, I’m not too sure if our selection committee would though
